For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy at a time. At the end of a block zone there is a method to stop the train, in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents rollercoaster trains from colliding with one another.

Glad you ended up liking Copperhead Strike. I rode it for the first time this year and didn't understand the lackluster enthusiasm it seemed to be getting online. People seemed bummed that it wasn't an east coast Maverick. I think it did fine carving out its own name.

Afterburn’s drop is actually 125 feet. The height of the coaster is 113 feet due to it being built on a hill.

I recently visited Carowinds, and I gotta say, it impressed me. Their Big 4 (or Big 5 imo) were impressive, and they have a nice collection of supporting coasters, even if some do run rough. It's cool to see the stats of the rides compared. Also, to anyone who hasn't been, you can't ride Wilderness Run without a kid...

Do yourself a favor and stay at the hotel on property at Carowinds. Super nice accommodations. I stayed there 3 days last year and got the room for $130 a night!! Better than the crap rooms I got at Cedar Point earlier in the year at $150 a night.

I'm honestly really impressed with Carowinds lineup. They have a nice broad spectrum, with some amazing greats, good rides, okay rides, bad rides, and really bad rides. But if they do anything like kings Dominion, they'll take that really bad ride and make it the best ride.

I could tell that Copperhead Strike was a long ride, but I thought Fury would still top it, but it makes sense with how fast Fury is going. I'm not surprised that the boomerang would have good pacing. I always notice just how forceful and intense those are, so they knew they carried good speed through the elements.

I'm legitimately shocked Fury wasn't the longest in ride time, even if you are blazing through all that track. Carowinds is still one really high class coaster away from being a top tier park, as right now there's a huge gap in quality (and most stats) from Fury to everything else.

Stealth (nighthawk) has a 115 foot lift hill and ends the swoop at 10 feet off the ground. I remember the "drop" being listed at 100 foot when we got it at cga, but who knows since it doesn't really have a drop.

Nothing surprised me; Intimidator has the most Prime Ride time of any coaster at Carowinds and the most prime ride time of any B&M hyper (after Nitro, which has 75 seconds of Prime Ride Timer instead of 73) Thanks for this awesome video!

The Vortex and the Carolina Cyclone need to be replaced...Carowinds getting something like Dollywood's Lightning Rod would be neat where the Carolina Cyclone currently resides. I thought I heard wrong when you said the 116.5' coaster was third in height. Sure enough. I know living near Cedar Point has skewed my idea of coaster heights, but my goodness, that's slightly taller than Maverick (the one that shocked everyone when CP announced it because of how short it is) and shorter than the drops on Gemini and Raptor, which don't exactly dominate the skyline. I know there's more to a good coaster than height, but come on.

There was always a lot of talk around the Carowinds area pre-2005 that there would never be anything tall due to the proximity to the airport. No idea if that was true or just a rumor that Paramount let spread so they wouldn't have to invest too much into the park
