曲名の Black and Tans とは、アイルランド独立戦争中に王立アイルランド警察隊（RIC）が設置していた臨時警察隊（Temporary Constables）のことです。
Ye とは初期近代英語に登場する代名詞の一つで、現代英語ではYour(二人称複数人称代名詞)です。日本語では”あなたたち”にあたります。また、アイルランド英語などでは今でもYou(二人称単数 : あなた)として使用されることもあります。
