Knew a lady who would regularly get the curly cuts as her cut kinky certified stylist instructed her to. She’d go every 3-4 months for a “maintenance cut”. There was a wedding she was in as a bridesmaid and wanted to wear her hair straight that day. She went to a stylist known for good silk presses and the stylist was horrified by the state of her hair . Everything looked uneven and chewed up! She was dumbfounded because she was getting cuts every 3-4 months so how could her hair be in such a bad state? The silk press stylist said it would be hard to wear her hair pressed out with her ends like that unless they cut the off the split ends and damage. Her regular stylist then told her that the issue could be how she takes care of her hair“in between” maintenance cuts and totally avoided blaming the cutting method itself.

Lol! we already knew. I cut my hair curly and straight because I know how it behaves when it is cut curly vs. when cut straight. I've seen multiple stylists on KZbin cut the curly/kinky hair blown out first and then re-wet the hair and refine it for curly wear..... Narada is doing a service because no one else is telling these women with damaged hair the truth!! Regardless of curl/coil/kinky/straight/wavy, everyone with dry hair needs a leave-in conditioner and a deep condtioner/mask/hydration (moisture) treatment!! Everyone with curly/kinky/coily hair needs a straight/blown out trim at least once a year!

Thank you so much for Narada. YOU were the ONLY stylist that didn’t turn a blind eye. You listened to us and you helped. So I knew the moment Aileese jumped ship something wasn’t right. I kept saying to close friends that I think they knew that they were damaging our hair but the money was good. I am not shocked or surprised they are just horrible human. They sat around and gaslight innocent women for years after we started asking questions. They made us look like villains . The truth will always prevail. WHAT’S IN THE DARK Will COME TO LIGHT ALWAYS! I am glad this is Over.

These curl specialists are expensive. Where I live there are not a lot of black hairstylist and so you assume that someone that works with curly hair would be able to deal with natural hair and now I’m seeing that there’s a difference.
@marleyhill34
@marleyhill34 21 сағат бұрын
@@redgirlt The maintenance is the same for dry hair of any type. If you have bleached blond straight European or Asian hair.....you are going to need a daily leave-in and a weekly deep conditioner/mask/hydration moisture treatment plus some Olaplex oil on the ends only. While someone with type 1a dry hair might use a lighter leave-in mist, someone with 4c product might use the mist and a heavier cream-based leave-in conditioner. All the hair should be cut straight ( blowout or press) at least once a year. The difference between curls, coils and kinks is in the styling and detangling. I have a Polynesian stylist with type 3 hair who works in a salon with a majority white clients....if I told him I'm going to give up leave-ins and deep conditioner...he would look at me like I'm crazy!!

In my opinion Aisha really wanted to be a hair influencer. I remember how she always shaded (and still does) KZbinrs in the natural hair space. She claims she used to be a hair blogger back in the day but I don’t think she popped off like she wanted to. She comes off as jealous of them so she used her platform doing hour long IG lives because she was finally getting attention in the hair space that she always wanted. She wanted attention and popularity but she went about it in a snarky condescending way and now it’s backfiring

I stopped following them a few years ago for 2 reasons: 1--The GASLIGHTING!!! Aisha would make snide remarks in their comment section on IG, and then act like she didn't know why people were getting upset with her. I bought their curly product guide and some other e-products, and they clearly referred to themselves as "snarky," so they knew how they came across. The second reason is that I didn't like the hairstyles featured on their site. I actually tried to check myself to make sure that I wasn't being texturist. Aisha's hair looked like my hair when I considered it fried and big chopped. I've just realized recently that I have been PI$$ED every time I left a stylist who did curly cuts AND used Innersense. They were probably trained by them. They gave me the worst cuts in my life, and I always looked better BEFORE they cut my hair. They also seemed like they could never deliver the "education" that was included in their $300+ new client "experiences." Thank you, Narada, Shelly, and Rosie for exposing them as the grifters that they are. This reminds me of the tobacco companies. How do these people look themselves in the mirror???
@marleyhill34
@marleyhill34 21 сағат бұрын
I go by ingredients and how the company recommends using the product. They would have never got me with the Innersense products because I would look at the ingredients and know instantly..that is not going to hydrate and moisturise my hair. And Innersense do leave ins and deep conditioners/masks/deep treatments but these two never recommended those items....also Uncle Funky's website literally tells you to use the leave in with the gel.....Like seriously would you work with a professional who doesn't follow product instructions... Like if Olaplex says leave on for 10 minutes why they leave it on for 20? As my stylists says..just wasting time and product and time and product equals money!!

@@marleyhill34 I went to those hairstylists and didn't know anything about the products that they were using because I didn't use them at home. I never followed the detox because it just didn't seem right, and it was contrary to what I felt my hair needed. I also didn't like that those stylists seem to suggest very basic haircuts that I didn't care for, and I didn't like the way their client's hair typically looked. Unfortunately, a lot of people trusted them and the hype and paid for it dearly. You should be able to trust your stylist, and if a trusted stylist knows something specific about my hair and they don't follow the instructions to the letter, I am not sure that I would be really concerned, unless it was a relaxer or dye. Again, the things that they were saying didn't seem right for my hair. I bought Innersense and hated the way it felt on my hair, and discarded it after a horrible wash experience overseas. I was in Africa and I ultimately found some Mielle conditioner on my last day at a grocery story to try to reverse what one shampoo did to my hair and I had to use bottled water the whole time to wash my hair. It was very short and I have NEVER had my hair respond to a shampoo and conditioner like that. It might have been the water over there as well. My hair was short and very easy to manage at the time, so I just took it on my trip because I just considered it a backup and I didn't want to risk losing the products I was using at the time. HUGE MISTAKE! My hair never looked/felt like that before or after.

there's a video of aeleise doing a curly cut on innersense's youtube page, so at the very least the company endorses this foolishness even if they didn't train them. i'm commenting that because i do think there is a difference between having a wholesale manufacturer deal(bgc/cik is on them people payroll) and actively endorsing the cutting methods

No one perfected their method better than Rosie. I had seen BGC on my Instagram feed, but ignored them, until I came across Rosie on this platform. I noticed Aisha deferred to Aielesse a lot because she had more time as a cosmetologist, yet she was the one to notice the issue first ... I wanted to comment and be like give up Sis cause she definitely isn't going to give you the response you want. Now I see her going hard with The Doux BeeGirl mousse and a few other things that I swear she said NOT to do...lol! They taught the stylist to use AG. That was the only shampoo my stylist was using on clients. I used it for maybe a year because that’s what my stylist used, but I did co-washes every other week, so I wasn’t shampooing with it weekly. I stopped using it when I saw someone who looks into ingredients say that was a not to be used as a regular shampoo. I was never in SSC, I heard of their method from my stylist.

I suspect that Aishia forgot she said that. It looks like she probably let Aeleise convince her that she was wrong, just like us. Agreed, you can see how Aeleise negatively responded to Aisha talking about the poor results of curly cuts and Aisha immediately pulls back her complaints by laughing it off when it's not a laughing matter. I discovered BCG in the beginning of my natural journey. I didn't know my hair or anything about natural hair. I did know enough though to know after one week of semi doing that detox, that I didn't like the way my hair felt, and I went back to leave ins, creams, and deep conditioning if I felt I needed too. It's really starting to seem almost apparent that they were scamming people purposefully. If in 2018 one of the creators of the methods realized that it was damaging her ends, then why on earth in 2021 was she still encouraging curly cuts? I have the answer to my own question though, her pockets were getting fat off of those $300 salon visits, and those paid "training" courses for stylist who they would later back track on and say weren't even actually Cut it Kinky affiliated. They really do need to be prosecuted. As "professionals" they knew there was no science behind were they were teaching. I wanted a curly cut sooooo bad at first but boy am I so glad I didn't have access to the Kool-Aid cause Jim Jones and Co. played in their consumers faces!!!!

I'm telling you if something isn't working for your hair, stop doing it. i had an itchy scalp for 5 years and I tried everything until I finally went to a trichologist clinic in 2019and they told me what to do and healed my scalp in 2 weeks. I learnt from that experience. I tried co-washing when I first went natural in 2009 and it made my scalp itch so I went back to shampoo but just sulfate-free and some botanical shampoo. Now I still use sulfates but only once every 4-6 months because I realised that I need to chelate and clarify my hair especially for Olaplex and protein treatments to penetrate and stick. Now I go and I get 3 different professional opinions on things that are really bothering me! Best if the professionals work offline but I have both online and offline professionals.

this is the same woman i seen a video on where she admitted they asked them to not use oils, creams, butters, deep conditioners, etc., when they first started their challenge/cult and said that was the only way to be apart of the challenge/cult that has created a list for them to purchase so women can get the “recommended” list of the products she initially told them not to use

Curly cuts never sounded good to me bc of all the emphasis on not straightening it for several months… how do you check your hair like that⁉️

Wow.. So what was the point of lying all of this time? Why ? Do you think it was just a money grab? All of this time I assumed that they were in business to help us but were just ignorant and going about it the wrong way. To know they were knowingly spreading misinformation is disguising, dishonest and disappointing 🤬

I follow the BGC method (with my own modifications) and my hair has never been healthier. That said, while I think the criticisms of the method and curly cuts are warranted, I find it suspicious that as soon as kinky coily-textured ladies get specific attention in the natural hair community, I see an undertone of “it’s not healthy to wear your natural texture as is” in a lot of the criticisms of BGC that I’m seeing. The method is not perfect and definitely needs to include more modifications and leeway because it’s not a one size fits all, but let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water. There are useful points : It has drawn attention to the fact that a lot of women don’t wash their hair enough largely because they’re not wearing their hair in their natural texture. No oils/butters refer to RAW oils/butters. A lot of their recommended products include oils/butters but not as the main ingredient. If people want an apology from them, ask for that, but don’t use this issue to promote the lie to kinky/coily-haired naturals that it’s impossible to wear wash and gos and have healthy hair. It can be done and we collectively just need to figure out how to do that.

Did you completely disregard everything else that came with this whole saga. They didn't revolutionize washing your hair. Yall keep trying to give them that credit like they were the only ones trying to convince people to cleanse. They didn't even instruct people how to cleanse their hair properly without damaging it but we should uplift the method because you decided to start washing your hair because they were the first person you listened to? They also don't promote wearing your natural hair at it is... They often find issue and problems when your hair is how it is meant to be but it doesn't curl or define with product... The problem with the whole thing is that there doesn't need to be a method AT ALL! Then trying to simplify haircare to a simple method left no room for nuance and deviation. Methods don't work for anyone because our hair doesn't understand methods. It simply has needs and everyone's needs are different. Also no one said it was impossible to wear wash n goes and have healthy hair... You are creating narratives that nobody is saying to try and advocate and justify what they have done to hundreds of not thousands of women's hair. If we are going to have this conversation let's really have it with full scope and understanding of the issues around them, this method, and how they went about addressing concerns. If you want to cling to a damaging method no one is telling you not to, but don't try to speak on things that you truly can't substantiate. We don't knew if this method truly is healthy for the people that say their hair is healthy. Everyone that had damage thought their hair was healthy at some point including the stylists when it wasn't.

Long established Cosmetologists, trichologists and stylists who worked behind chair that I followed on KZbin for nearly decades ( channel start date) who use Leave in conditioner and deep conditioners: GlamFam Hair & Beauty (2010) Andree Marie ( 2008) AfrikanHairGod (2010) Cyn Doll ( 2011) ( don't @ me with negativity. This is based purely on factual experience not opinions), Krissypoo HairView (2012), Elite Hair Care USA (2015) AlopeciaFreeWithJass (2013) Karen of Curl House (2010) Ask Debbie About Hair & Health(2016), hairrules (2008), Seun Okimi(2016) MoKnowsHair (2013) Jennifer Cynthia ( 2008) Deeper Than Hair TV (2015) TIERRA J (2015) Yannie the Locologist(2013) Now I might not agree with and do everything they say but I value and validate their experience. I don't use grease but Narada/AfrikanHairGod does. They might style differently and use different products/sell different products or deal with hair loss and scalp conditions differently but they are consistent on shampoo, deep conditioner(except Yannie-do not deep conditioner your locs) and leave-in conditioner ( locs-a very light leave in mist). Stop letting Instascammers and TikTokers and Luxury/exclusive online services mislead you when you have experienced professionals giving you the same information for (as Crystal at Elite Hair Care USA would say) "free.99" and showing you tutorials on multiple types of hair and heads and scalps!!
