On one hand, yes it's a dick move to break the final promise to your dead wife, especially when that cause meant the world to her, kept her fighting and suffering for so long, and when that promise gave her peace. On the other hand, when a situation has no prospect of ever becoming better, when all resources have been attempted extensively, when you can't handle it any longer financially, emotionally, and physically, then you need to change that situation. Someone is going to break in that situation, and it'd be tragic for all involved and should be prevented if possible. So yes, you are an asshole for breaking that important promise, but you're choosing the lesser of two evils for every living person involved. It's a dick move, but it's the only option that won't end in life-threathening amounts of stress and confrontations. So I really can't give higher than a 1.5/5, but I also can't give lower than a 1/5.
