Why do you feel you needed to be quiet and take the blame. Only an idiot would take the blame for something they didn't do. Everybody needs to take responsibility for their own actions, or in this case, non-action. Stop second guessing yourself. And your husband's stepsister will grow up at some point.When she learns the truth , she'll handle it how she needs to, or she wont.

I am SSSSSOOOOOOOOOO happy her husband unexciting backed her up without hesitation. It's extremely sad how rare that happens in these stories. How many in-laws act cruel and attack and the spouse - the husband's, supposed to defend and protect- hesitate painfully.

As much as you feel blamed, this stupidity had to come to a head. Know that you are not the only one strong enough to brave that storm, keep your family well loved and protected, such people tend to wear out their welcome.
