Baby proof home? The kid is 8. He’s not a baby, just rude and stupid for taking someone’s food without asking. She shouldn’t need to hide anything he might get into.

Right? What if the kid grabbed a rock from the driveway and broke his tooth on that? Would OP still be "responsible" for half the dental fees b/c it was "her rock?" No logic there at all. Just an opportunist trying to guilt their friend into helping pay their stupid son's dentist bills.

Yup! Service animals should not be in carts, people should barely notice they are there. They should be neutral to their environment and other people and animals. People fake service dogs all the time. It’s such a shame! Trained service dogs are task trained to mitigate their owners disability. Emotional support animals are not task trained and are not allowed the same access to places that service animals are. You can usually tell if the service animal is fake if they are barking, lunging, reactive, and poorly trained, like in this story! 💪🏼
@sweethoney929210 ай бұрын
Also there is no “service dog registration” they are all fake money grab schemes.

A dog that shows threatening behaviour and biting is not a service dog. Service dogs do not bite. That is a pet dressed up as a service dog and it makes me so angry when people devalue the trained animals so many genuine people need to have.

The lady that essentially said she didn't want her sons is vile. I can only imagine the emotional damage they'll now deal with for the rest of their lives because of it. Children just want to be loved by their parents. For the parent to literally say that they wouldn't exist if the sister had been born first is, to me, akin to her saying, "I don't actually care for you, I just put up with you." I feel so bad for those boys. 😢

I knew a kid named Ocean when I was a kid. He was pretty cool and it was not seen as a lame name. It was just a tamer version of “Oceanianus” (the first baby’s born from the pilgrims ON the ocean)

I agree that kids are like that - when I was younger my siblings would say things like that but my dad would also joke and tell us he and my mom found us in the gutter 😂 we always laughed. My kids are sarcastic too and tease each other but it's always in good fun. Kids will be kids!

Real service animals do not act that way. They are highly trained and obedient. I’m guessing it was an emotional support animal. These animals are not covered by ADA laws.
@scarletalayne68204 ай бұрын
As someone with a trained service animal the behavior of that dog was not of one that would be a service animal. Especially with the person noting that “they are nervous around new people.” Service animals are required to have good behavior and to not show displays of aggression towards the public (outside of a safety issue obviously if someone is going after their handler they can show aggression). A note for what people can ask: they are allowed to ask if the animal is a service animal and what tasks they perform, an emotional support animal is not a service animal and does not have protections and can be removed, but if an animal is acting improperly even if it is a service animal they can be asked to leave.

Real service animals are trained to provide a specific task for their handler. "Emotional support animals" do not count as service animals in a majority of situations. The thing about this story that really gets me is that the #1 rule of working dogs is they like to work! Most puppies selected for training will drop out for a variety of reasons, and a big one is disinterest. No dog is ever forced to work. Obviously, this lady bought a vest for her pet and is subjecting them to situations they don't have the temperament to handle.

Emotional support animal and they don’t have the same privileges as a trained support animal.

Exactly this. ESA’s are protected from housing discrimination that regular pets can be denied for, but service animals are trained and allowed to go with their person everywhere.

There are service dog trained for medical tasks, medical issues... They are very well trained... And now ppl have "emotional support animals" where anyone can get this if they say they cant go out in public bc of anxiety, ptsd whatever they wanna say . Service animals are always marked /wear specific things. They are amazing!!!!🥰

Right? In no universe would I be willing to take that risk. I've known too many Emergency Department workers and physicians to not have learned my lesson from their stories. Better safe than sorry. I think husband should be putting his phone in the car's trunk before driving if it's so compulsive for him to check his phone. People need to take driving SO seriously.

Actual service animals are extensively trained for whatever the condition they’re helping with is. Emotional support pets don’t need to be trained necessarily
@readroyal6661Ай бұрын
There are therapy dogs (ones that you might take into a hospital/school/nursing home that is okay and encouraged to pet), emotional support dogs (that you may be able to get around certain no-pet housing rules with), and then there are service dogs (which are trained to do specific tasks for a specific person and can legally go anywhere that person can). The only dog allowed in a store where other animals are not is a service dog. And the training for a dog to become a service dog is rigorous. They have to have a certain temperament, be okay around other people, not be easily distracted, etc. That woman is 100% lying about it being a registered service dog.

Gender disappointment is a real and valid feeling when you're pregnant, but it usually goes away as you get used to the idea and you would never ever tell your kid that. Usually it stems from lack of experience (only having sisters growing up, expectation of one gender or the other from the ultrasound, gut feeling or for whatever reason, etc).
@PrincessPia54Ай бұрын
ACTUAL service animals do not bark, growl, or try to attack random people. Service animals are damn near invisible and majority of the time you don't know they're even there.

I am usually weary about “unconventional” names but I quite like the water themed ones. And so did the people who were given those names. I find it odd the parents wanted to legally change their children’s names after their children have reached an age where their names are basically solidified to them. That’s like renaming adopted children who are around the age of 4 to 10. They would be confused obviously if they were to be renamed. In my opinion, if parents regret the names they gave their children, they have until the birth certificate is processed to figure it out. Otherwise, it’s a terribly LONG process to rename a person. This is why naming children should not be rushed! There’s a ton of importance in a name.

#5 Get over it My parents always told us that they wanted a boy, but didn't get one. We knew they loved us, it didn't matter. We siblings used to tell the youngest they were adopted. I told the second she was supposed to be a boy and the others wouldn't be here. We have a close knit family and it was all normal childhood interactions.
