There’s a reason why Aizen despises the Soul King’s existence. If you go back and listen to his words when the menos bail them after Rukia’s execution it shows how it’s always been his goal. He’s still a monster in terms of empathy and actions but he’s one of the few in the world that knows the truth of the world itself.

By the way it took Ichigo a month to wake up in the manga and lost his power immediately after. The anime made changes to allow for a filler arc in between.

Neel is spots on. Aizen's greatest desire is to fight someone who's equal to him. And after Ichigo is losing his power, Aizen realized that there's no one equal to him. He's all alone. Which is why he subconsciously wanted to lose. Aizen is so strong that he's alone, like Starrk.

He still wants to overthrow the throne and expose the truth because of how scummy the Soul Society are. He was willing to against the Soul Society for what they've done. Guess what Ichigo did throughout Soul Society arc? He's against the law of Soul Society. Guess which lineage Ichigo originated from? Yeah, the same clan that was opposed the corruption and betrayal towards the Soul King. It's why Aizen look at Ichigo as an equal term above everyone else including Urahara. You see a writer is really good when he rewrites an entire story because he actually thought of a storyline that would be better than the original. Aizen as Urahara's and Ichigo's counterpart and their dynamics were genius. The same happened with Fate/Grand Order: Avalon Le Fae. The author rewrote the entire story because he thought of a better villain and he wrote one of the greatest masterpieces in fiction and that specific villain became a masterpiece and top tier villain as well (perhaps even better than Aizen).
