I love when people hype up Aizen’s Bankai like it’s suppose to be even more Broken than his Shikai. Maybe the Reason he never uses it is the same reason Shinji doesn’t use his, or why Yamamoto also decides to never use his unless it’s Ywach, it’s a double edged sword that could prove more harmful to his allies and himself than useful. We know that Shinji’s Bankai make your ennemy think that their allies are their ennemies but it also attacks your own allies making them turn on each other and since it has a huge AoE he’s forbidden to use it in the Seireitei to avoid making all the shinigamies kill each others. Or maybe his Bankai is something that only is useful after he dies like Izanagi in Naruto like an ultimate Illusion that let’s you rewrite something that happened letting you revive and probably surprise your opponent again. Fact of the mather is he decides not to use his Bankai and there is a reason for that.

I don't think Aizen will ever achieve his Bankai because he never tried to build a relationship with his Zanpakuto to master it. We also can't forget that his Zanpakuto is also a Water type. I've only seen him actually call out the command to release his enemies from the hypnosis when reality comes back after the mirror world shatters before their eyes. He did it to Barragan and I think he did to Toshiro once before. It's been a long time since I've gone back to look at all of the episodes again. His power is still mysterious though.

To the people having wet dreams over Aizen's bankai, I'm leaving you this thought: bankai does not make you necessarily stronger in a fight, and might even be useless/dangerous/inappropriate in some situations. Which is precisely why Shinji did not use his bankai in Karakura. There are several instances of such bankais (where are you Can't Fear Your Own World readers?)
