I imagine that the Stark Varg will just keep improving... I think some people forget how incredible that bike is for a first year release. Thanks, AJ.

It really is the perfect bike for an adult learning the sport or progressing. It's difficult to learn on a small trail bike, and full size MX bikes have too much power. This has it all!

@@BarrettMeeker867 It would kind of be weird to have the rear brake where the clutch lever usually is, on a dirt bike... however, in the long run it could be an advantage, as you can apply the rear brake equally as good in right turns (as traditionally don in left turns).
@BarrettMeeker867
@BarrettMeeker867 10 ай бұрын
@@jedielder7970 Yea funny enough it's becoming fairly common to have a left hand rear brake in roadracing probably for some similar reasons. I used to road race a 125 GP bike and I never had one but always wanted a hand rear brake on that bike, once you have a quick shifter you only use the clutch on the start so could easily run it turned out of the way and have a rear hand brake. I love it. One tip - if you have bicycles / mountain bikes switch their brakes so front is on the right & rear is on the left. I do that for all my bikes & my kid's bikes. (they come opposite at least in the US) It helps me anyway.
@jedielder7970
@jedielder7970 10 ай бұрын
@@BarrettMeeker867 Yeah, you're so right. My brother-in-law took one of our mx bikes for a test ride and crashed hard while smashing the front brake lever, thinking it was the back brake... like his mountain bike. I can totally see the advantage of only taking your feet off the pegs when you really need to for balance. I raced motocross and SX for years... but I bet 125 GP is fun! I heard that is what Jean-Michel Bayle wanted to do when he left his MX/SX career behind in the US. I don't know if road racing ever worked out for him, at the same level... he was amazingly smooth on dirt bikes.

Personally, I've ordered one mainly because it should need very little maintenance to the motor and: 1- I dislike dealing with professional mechanics, 2- I like doing maintenance myself from time to time but not with the frequency needed by a typical gasoline powered dirtbike. I've tried one: I was blatantly faster than with my 2 stroke and I had a lot of fun. Yes the battery is the main problem and not a negligible one but I think it should last decently for an afternoon at the track, besides I can ask for current supply like those guys who come to the track with a caravan; they may use it to run a refrigerator etc.; I'll use the current to keep the battery charged as much as I can. Bottom line: I yet have to find the perfect dirtbike but I think I'll love this one and I think it will be the best choice for me; I understand that others may have different needs, priorities and tastes, though.

Yeah it's blowing people's minds! And I'm really surprised that I haven't seen any videos of people riding 80hp regularly & talking about the difference to a 450. It's gotta be the best bike ever, for sure. Every pro-level rider that tries it basically is blown away in the first 5 minutes & comes back with stories of doing things they've never done on a gas bike. If I rode tracks I'd want one for sure.

I honestly think the bike looks mint. If you are not into electric dirt bikes that is cool too just keep riding your gas powered bikes nothing wrong with that. Only thing is I wish it had a rear brake as well. Last thing I want to do is mess around with the front brake lever while having major arm pump. Seems a little sketchy with jumping as you can’t really judge it by how much RPMs your bike has coming up to a jump. Overall I think it’s cool.

Question, and sorry if it’s already been answered. But what are your thoughts on the handbrake versus the foot? I’ve changed my order from the footbrake to the handbrake and now back to the footbrake and I’m gonna leave it at that. I have a E RIde Pro (like a Surron), Electric bikes are fun to ride and it is easier to keep good foot technic because you do not have to move them to shift or brake. They accelerate fast. It would be nice if they made a Stark that was much cheaper and only had like 40 HP max. But I Think all the cost is in the Battery and Motor. But I know that Horse power is not hard to come by in electric. So that is why cost will probably be high for a while.

It really is one bike for all skill levels. If you are of average height and fitness but have beginner skills, you might want to order softer spring and softer clicker settings, like for someone who is 20 lbs lighter than you. The power is adjustable. That's it. You can update the springs later once you improve your skills and become faster. The bike is very easy to ride. An electric motor is not a replacement for skills though. You still need pro skills to keep up with pro riders.

Stark Varg is definitely on the list , but deep inside I'm hoping for Honda to step up with my decision.

Most of these ebikes can operate under water. Josh Hill rode his Alta through a swimming pool in a video and I’ve seen KTM Freerides well below the handlebars… Mine’s been in very wet conditions and “header pipe deep” water crossings. They need to be able to withstand pressure washing etc..

@@Sleepy.Time. if they have a removable battery they will suggest removing it if pressure washing, but honestly common sense comes into play too. So not really an issue unless you make it one.

Nvm on that which wont ever be allowed to race .. im dyin to see the Ducati Dezmo 450 which will be in the U.S. racing in 2026 and racing in Europe etc in 24' & 25'. It looks like a Honda and KTM took all the best aspects of their bikes and had a baby with Brembo brakes and a few other top of the line parts. The frame, swing arm, motor, suspension etc all the best designs from other factory bikes. Motor supposedly has tech capabilities of going to 15-20k rpm on a 4stroke 450 which is crazy! Not surprised with a brand like Ducati and how their super N sport bikes are. Def the bike I'm most excited about for sure

I think id be fine with these especially if/when they use real dirt bike sounds as an option to activate or deactivate. I would be willing to sacrifice some battery life for an extremely loud high quality bose like sound system on these so we can still look & sound as cool as b4. There was a car movie where they added amazing engine sounds to non engine cars...forget what it was called & if they could implement that...these would 100% be even more widely accepted. Youd have to use actual real 2 & 4 stroke notes ofc.

Agree to disagree. It would look silly if the noise was just there doing its own thing. But to have the noise perfectly lined up with the speed & rpm of the bike would be awesome. Actual bike recordings would make it not so artificial either. I think u underestimate how good Bose speakers really are. If the electric bikes could sound like ice u literally have the best of both worlds. No brainer. Especially when that is the BIGGEST complaint of electric bikes. 🎤

When I was a kid in SoCal we had motocross tracks and riding areas literally everywhere. The best track and most famous tracks were all in CA. We used to ride and shoot from our house. Now, most of them are long gone. Maybe, just maybe e-bikes will open a bunch of new areas. Probably not in Commifornia but elsewhere for sure. I'd imagine parks for e-bikes only just as there will more than likely be e-bike-only races along with our 4-strokes and 2-strokes. I like all things 2 wheels. Technology advances. Sure be nice to have an intermission race in SX with e-bikes.

I haven't quite needed to get a generator yet for my varg though as I get 1.5-2 hours of riding on mine so far.
