@@BarrettMeeker867 It would kind of be weird to have the rear brake where the clutch lever usually is, on a dirt bike... however, in the long run it could be an advantage, as you can apply the rear brake equally as good in right turns (as traditionally don in left turns).
@BarrettMeeker86710 ай бұрын
@@jedielder7970 Yea funny enough it's becoming fairly common to have a left hand rear brake in roadracing probably for some similar reasons. I used to road race a 125 GP bike and I never had one but always wanted a hand rear brake on that bike, once you have a quick shifter you only use the clutch on the start so could easily run it turned out of the way and have a rear hand brake. I love it. One tip - if you have bicycles / mountain bikes switch their brakes so front is on the right & rear is on the left. I do that for all my bikes & my kid's bikes. (they come opposite at least in the US) It helps me anyway.

Personally, I've ordered one mainly because it should need very little maintenance to the motor and: 1- I dislike dealing with professional mechanics, 2- I like doing maintenance myself from time to time but not with the frequency needed by a typical gasoline powered dirtbike. I've tried one: I was blatantly faster than with my 2 stroke and I had a lot of fun. Yes the battery is the main problem and not a negligible one but I think it should last decently for an afternoon at the track, besides I can ask for current supply like those guys who come to the track with a caravan; they may use it to run a refrigerator etc.; I'll use the current to keep the battery charged as much as I can. Bottom line: I yet have to find the perfect dirtbike but I think I'll love this one and I think it will be the best choice for me; I understand that others may have different needs, priorities and tastes, though.

It looks like a Honda and KTM took all the best aspects of their bikes and had a baby with Brembo brakes and a few other top of the line parts. The frame, swing arm, motor, suspension etc all the best designs from other factory bikes. Motor supposedly has tech capabilities of going to 15-20k rpm on a 4stroke 450 which is crazy! Not surprised with a brand like Ducati and how their super N sport bikes are. Def the bike I'm most excited about for sure

I think id be fine with these especially if/when they use real dirt bike sounds as an option to activate or deactivate. I would be willing to sacrifice some battery life for an extremely loud high quality bose like sound system on these so we can still look & sound as cool as b4. There was a car movie where they added amazing engine sounds to non engine cars...forget what it was called & if they could implement that...these would 100% be even more widely accepted. Youd have to use actual real 2 & 4 stroke notes ofc.

@ArchAngelMx10 ай бұрын
Agree to disagree. It would look silly if the noise was just there doing its own thing. But to have the noise perfectly lined up with the speed & rpm of the bike would be awesome. Actual bike recordings would make it not so artificial either. I think u underestimate how good Bose speakers really are. If the electric bikes could sound like ice u literally have the best of both worlds. No brainer. Especially when that is the BIGGEST complaint of electric bikes. 🎤

Next is Hydrogen. We all love our gas dirt bikes. Unfortunately for us most of the powers that be hate them and us. Always have. When I was a kid in SoCal we had motocross tracks and riding areas literally everywhere. The best track and most famous tracks were all in CA. We used to ride and shoot from our house. Now, most of them are long gone. Maybe, just maybe e-bikes will open a bunch of new areas. Probably not in Commifornia but elsewhere for sure. I'd imagine parks for e-bikes only just as there will more than likely be e-bike-only races along with our 4-strokes and 2-strokes. I like all things 2 wheels. Technology advances. Sure be nice to have an intermission race in SX with e-bikes.

@@davidbeck4429 I wouldn't do spare batteries for the varg they are $7k and aren't that easy to change on the varg. Instead you can get a 240v generator for a little overy $1k and do about a full charge in an hour. I do a similar setup with my son's electric KTM and it works well. I haven't quite needed to get a generator yet for my varg though as I get 1.5-2 hours of riding on mine so far. (at 35 hp beginner mx pace) I raced a sur-ron last year in a couple 2-hour hare scramble and based on that I think I could do a full 2-hour hare scramble on the varg at least the types we have hear which are only averaging 15 mph or so.

super amateur rider here on a 250cc bike, and haven't ride an electric bike, but I think the only downside is the mid air adjustment with the throttle, it is lost for the electric bikes. You can still do "brake tap" adjustment though

What, no you have like 100xs more adjustment in the air on an electric bike. You can loop out an electric bike in the air lol, there is no gears, when you go wide open on an electric bike it will spin that wheel to what a gas bike would 5th gear tapped, unlike your gas if you were in say 2nd gear.

its way easier, throttle is the same but more responsive in the air because your always in max gear. and braking in the air you don't have to worry about clutch or stalling it.
