I’m a Jags fan from the MOMENT they were introduced in ‘93. Coughlin was a great head coach for THAT generation. He really had NOTHING to do with that 2017 team and their victories. Those guys were playing for Gus Bradley and EACH OTHER! They were PISSED that Bradley was fired. They LOVED that guy. Then to get Coughlin SCREAMING at you and FINING you for every little thing… Treating them like children wasn’t gonna fly! I respect Coughlin. I honestly got excited when I heard he was coming back. But, the more I thought about it. It was never gonna work. Players today don’t respond well to being bullied.

That said, Jalen Ramsey handled the situation poorly while he was here, and that’s why many Jaguars fans still don’t like him. Disagree. Parcels understood that the NFL changes and he has to change with it. He may not have liked it, but he understood that's what it takes to win now. There are numerous examples of winning HCs going elsewhere and losing. Ditka in New Orleans. Seifert in Carolina. John Fox in Chicago. Parcels, however, was 4 for 4 in turning losing teams into winners .... over three decades. One does not accomplish that without adapting.

People have short memories. In coughlin last season it was reported that the players hated coughlin becuase of excessive fines that the players association thought were against the collective bargaining agreement. The PA literally publically told free agents not to go to jacksonville, which is what got coughlin fired. That's why Ramsey and the rest of the jags hated Coughlin. It was a money issue.
