When is she not underscored though! I've been trying to find the slip, still can't see it. I thought it was brilliant and moody. I loved it. Just felt sad for her as it's not nice to hear you've disappointed someone. I swear the judges forget she's never done this before and every dance is literally her first time learning and doing it. And they seem to hold her almost to a level of a pro just because she has natural ability. She definitely was not the bottom dancer today!!

@@misslday9848 Unfortunately this usually happens with the exceptional dancers. Danny and Aj both set the bar very high with their first dances (Danny with his Cha Cha Cha and Aj with her jive) and the judges are more likely to scrutinise their every move because they probably expect nothing less than perfection. It’s so frustrating, especially when we consider the fact that Aj is a complete novice. Till this day I will never be over the fact that Danny and Oti never freaking won! I hope history doesn’t repeat itself!

Not Harsh at all, this dance just did not work. They were not undermarked it is a good score. People's expectations of AJ & KAI are so high that they are unwilling to accept that when it does not match previous weeks the excuses come out.

@@nichemphill8321 no, it’s that there is such inconsistent marking where she has been consistently under marked and judged to a higher standard compared to others, despite having no dance experience. Dan in no way deserved a 9, Rhys didn’t deserve a perfect score when he was messy and struggled with the lifts. Sara nearly always gets overmarked (she got the same score for her Argentine tango as AJ’s Argentine tango from 3 of the judges, despite it being nowhere near as good).

Wow, this is such a difficult dance to comment on. I think it was incredibly beautiful in some ways and was almost a kind of contemporary/paso fusion - but that isn't what the judges are looking for and would have been very difficult to pull off even if AJ was at her best, which I don't think she was tonight. However, it would have been difficult to produce an 'authentic' paso doble to the chosen music and whilst I appreciate that is part of the challenge, I think that Kai took a risk with the choreography because of the song, whereas more 'traditional' paso music - or even something more passionate - tends to help the non-pro to get more of a flamenco feel into the dance. That said, I loved it and think a 6 was harsh.

This had 10 potential at the beginning but for some reason it didnt go as far as it could have. The capework and musicality was fantastic and the storytelling was dynamic it just looked a little hesitant and plonky sometimes. I loved the kicks and back bends they were the best parts and she hit some stunning lines. She held the drama and produced some lovely spanish lines and promanades overall I thought she done really well it wasn't her best but not her worst and it was a hard act to follow from THAT Charleston, undermarked shouldn't have scored lower than Dan 😳 *8/10*

For me, I think the music and lighting did AJ and Kai no favours what so ever. It was another case of trying to shoehorn a style of dance to a piece of music and they just didn't fit imho. They both made the best of what they had and not her best but I also agree with all the other comments, really undermarked - how Anton (who I think has been great all season) can give Dan a 9 and AJ's dance an 8 is beyond me.

AJ's top line was immaculate but her pelvis needed tucking under to keep the spine straight which would have freed up her movement a bit more and possibly prevented her slipping. A good dance, just a little too stiff. 7

Deserved atleast 8s . It wasn't her best as it didn't really flow in the transitions between moves but that was the only thing that let it down slightly. Undermarked. But I did feel a little underwhelmed at the end of the dance. Those legs though are remarkable . I don't think the music was that easy to dance to either. It just didn't really have a Paso vibe. But you could see she was really trying . 100% effort. Another few days and this would've been incredible.

The whole concept is great, the music, the choreography, the drama, but sadly I was underwhelmed by it too. If that was two pros it would have been amazing but as Motsi said, it just wasn't her dance at all. She was severely lacking in shaping and strength and passion. She looked gorgeous though, like a model, beautiful outfit.

Score: *7* I agree with the judges, not AJ strong dance this week. I feel like this dance would have been better in Halloween week especially with the characterization of the music. The content that she did was well executed to a degree, however, I wanted more! It lack in traditional Paso content (i.e., flamenco, Spanish lines, etc.) I also agree with CRH that the walks need to be a tad more dramatic. Not her best dance, but a good attempt!

To the people who say this was undermarked sorry you need to take off the blinkers. AJ &KAI have set high standards for their previous dances that when they dropped a bit people blame everything else but face reality. I have seen the same comments there was no bias towards DAN & NADIYA but that argument fails straight away as they were just 1 point higher than AJ & KAI.
