Ajahn Jayasaro (Shaun Michael Chiverton) was born on the Isle of Wight, England in 1958. He joined Ajahn Sumedho’s community for the Rains Retreat as an anagarika in 1978 and in November he left for Wat Pa Pong in Northeast Thailand where he ordained as a novice in the following year. I tend to listen to a lot of Dhamma talks from different Ajahns. There are a couple I tend to listen to more than others. I've recently started listening to Ajahn Jayasaro's talks. What seems to strike me is the way he delivers his talks. It's like he's channeling his talks directly from a place of complete internal quiet and peace.

Yes, it's like he is just talking to a friend. But what he is saying is very profound.

Very well organized. talk, delivered in a very understandable fashion, easy to digest all the points made and to connect the dots. Very encouraging to keep up the practices by seeing immediate "liberating" benefits on a moment to moment basis. I listened at 1:25 speed, in case that helps anyone.

The 'A' Pali prefix is even found in english = Synchronious/Asynchronious, Sexual/Asexual, Social/Asocial (Non-Social), Symmetrical/Asymmetrical. "A' in Pali as a prefix is equal to 'Non'

Imagination is basically , folly. It is based on delusion. And delusion is avoiding what is real, here and now. What good is the greatest invention if one is not content? It's an attachment like any other, thinking it will give some sort of deliverance, but it will just leave the person hungry again, and paining, after the goal has reached. It is not something that can sustain after it is conceived.

The Buddha gave us the 3 perceptions so that we can see clearly that nothing observable/objective, nothing that is born, grows, is created, arises, etc. is self. However, this is meant to destroy our belief and devotion, our identification, to the world of conditions so that we can simply rest as what we truly are, which is the undivided knowing of all that arises. Even Ajahn Chah makes this clear. Unfortunately the long history of Buddhism using Anatta as a metaphysical position has made this simple recognition of our true nature, which is permanent, blissful, and who we really are, almost impossible. We can awaken right now by simply realizing and recognizing our true self nature as the knowing, which is universal and unborn.

Your are at the abyss. Might as well be present. Reflect on these daily. FIVE REMEMBRANCES ------ I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old. I am of the nature to have ill-health. There is no way to escape having ill-health. I am of the nature to die. There is no way to escape death. All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. There is no way to escape being separated from them. My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground on which I stand. ----Buddha

16:50 thus anatta is a perception rather than a characteristic. A characteristic is a something which is intrinsic to something’s reality. A perception however is not intrinsic, independent, just a way of looking at something. So the goal is not to realise anatta as a reality but to use it as a perception to weaken and break the clinging. Not me, not mine, not myself. Dukkha is defined as the five clinging aggregates (of experience).

You do not know my whole story and you should not, but it is really only about rape and cutting legs and hands off.I need my rest, do not come, you are destroying the work of others. Do not bother me, I need my rest. I am already peeing in my bed because it is too painful, it is already too painful to walk, to walk to the toilet. Its just, you do not know what I did to myself to die, and it did not work out, I am still alive.
