I still think his best role is at number 10 when we get the right personnel in. Right now rwb/rm is his best role but a more powerful and athletic player at rwb would be more ideal imo

Agreed, in this team right now he has huge impact at RWB. But in the future, when Utd (hopefully) have a good RWB for the system, Amad will move back to the 10 and the team will be stronger overall.

The solution is play Amad as the right 10 with Antony RWB until United get a different RWB thats good offensively. Amad is the best match winner at united so needs to be close to goal and hes looked way more dangerous as a 10 with antony RWB than he has at RWB or as the 10 with Dalot/Maz at RWB.

Amad has scored 0 goals for United at RWB. All of his goals under Amorim have came as a right 10. He's best as a right 10 when the RWB is good offensively. That's why Amads been way better as a right 10 when Antonys on the pitch. Against City Amad won a penalty and scored the winner & V Plezen Amad created Hojlunds first goal and a BCC to Mount all as soon as Antony came on

I feel like 'it depends on who we're playing' is probably(?) the best answer at the moment(?). His flexibility to provide more than one position well is useful at the current time in which we haven't nailed down each position (as things stand).

I just agree with all that everything it’s basic analysis just to say a number 10 closer to goal. He’s more dangerous. I’m is more dangerous when he’s got space rather than having to wriggle in between players do short passes his running and dribbling ability from right wing back like you said as an extra attackerand when the ball switched to his side in the final third he has space and time to get across or a shot

I agree, I think Amad is best at RWB. The only negative to this is his height from a defensive set piece standpoint. As a defender, he is expected to pick up a player and he can get outmatched easily. As a number 10, there is less pressure on him being a primary defender and can be hidden more; it is not as important for him to get back into defensive shape for 2nd and 3rd phases. Either of these can be fixed by other choices of personnel in the team. We struggle if we are playing Martinez at LCB, Amad and Malacia in wing back positions and Mainoo in the center.

His lack of physicality/physical presence/stature slightly holds him back as a RWB I believe but giving him the extra space and more touches lets him really shine going forward. When he is at the R10 Mazraoui, while being a soild RWB, isnt as good at getting forward and helping the attack so United struggle more going forward. Getting a dynamic RWB and playing Amad as the R10 would be best case scenario.

I think he didn’t fit in ETH system, hence why he didn’t play him much. He would have those moments but didn’t do well. This is why Rashford and Garnacho are struggling now because this system isn’t their strong point. The two systems had a mirror effect really to all three wingers.

Scary. It's like you entered my mind and made a video about what's in there. Can't understand why Amorim started with him on the wing and changed to the back 5 we've had the last couple of games. We can't score goals anymore, and we won't face Trent every week to save us. The wide positions are key for attack in Amorim's system. We need quality attacking players in those positions. Not underwhelming full backs.

I think it's more simple than this.....all things being equal if you play attacking players such as Amad and possibly Garnacho it's natural that we're better in attack than having defensive minded full backs like Dalot and Mazraoui. So I don't think it's necessarily an Amad thing it's a player profile thing that needs to be considered. In my opinion it'd be worth putting 2 wingers in the wide positions such as Amad and Garnacho because we've got a back 3 plus holding midfielders so it brings better balance to the team

That inside forward is the best position for amad,although he's very good at it I don't like the fact that this position demands a lot of defensive play. Which in turn makes amad play further from goal and it's a burden physically most importantly.

Amad must play central as you do not want him to be marked out of a game or doubled up on. It is easy to nullify wide players with simple tactics. His energy and technique is best utilised in central attacking area especially with a lack of suitable attacking options.
