It's for SF use, not motorised infantry. SF tend to operate and travel quick and light and in asymmetric ways on routes - this makes ambush pretty hatd unless you have a very sophisticted adversary with briiliant recce, comms and time to plan an ambush. It doesnt provide for 100% safety, but tbats not why you sign up for that shit!
