This was a very interesting comparison. I'd kinda like to see a really in-depth comparison between the Alta and other bikes when they're set up properly and you're more comfortable with both (proper setup for the track, more practice/warm-up laps, etc.) I know that'd be really difficult to do all considered but it'd be cool. Also, not sure if this is possible but I think the yt slump could be due to the fact there hasn't been a lot of training videos that have come out recently. I know that's why I started watching you, and while I personally enjoy 90% of the content you make, other people might find more interest in seeing the training videos. I know I sure would! they helped me a lot especially while I was recovering from my broken collar bone. I'm a little bummed out I missed a class i had booked with you since not very many are near me and now I'll have to wait till next year. Oh well. But that's my rant done

Sounds like the Alta needs a variable throttle map based on speed to make the throttle more forging at low speed kinda like MX bikes have differnt ignition maps depending on the gear.

It does. The Alta has 4 maps ranging from mellow to zero restriction you can change on the fly via buttons on the handlebars. The young buck in the video that was having problems with traction would have benefited from riding in map 2 or 3.

Gear shift lever that changes modes...Regenerative braking on foot brake lever..Exponential on throttle to simulate\tune powerband and allow tuning endpoint throttle sensitivity. clutch lever that cuts engine braking. Essentially switches connected to levers.

I don't know what the 'engine braking' mode is on the Alta, but Daniel was going WAY slower into corners, slower at the slowest point. Wasn't sure if it was all the e-braking or if it was actually braking due to not trust the tires.

In the highest mode (4) it doesn’t really engine brake, and it’s very easy to skid by accident. Which is probably the one thing I like least about the Alta.

Look at history. 2T motocross bikes only and then everyone rooted on when the first 4T competitive bikes came out and then 2T bikes nearly became extinct. What are we seeing now? A resurgence of 2T love. We love the sound and the smell of the 2T. Two weeks ago I bought my first 2T since 1983. Oil and fuel injected and relatively quiet. No more premix!! The initial excitement for electric bikes and their sucky electric motor sound will fade fast. People will soon long for their old 2T and 4T bikes. As a side note. Vinyl records outsold CD's last year for the first time since 1986. Get it? BRAAAAP

I would say you have an easier time switching as you ride many different bikes with different setups more often as well. I have never rode an alta I can only imagine that it's very different. I'm expecting big things from Nate 👍 PS: Its really not a fair comparo unless & until both bike are shod with similar rubber & the rider has similar seat on time. Electric motors gives instantaneous power ie. torque so a very fine throttle control is needed. Most of us are far more familiar with the slight delay afforded by gas motors revving up to speed. I think you are used to your Alta, not your student. And tires and suspension probably didn’t help to know which one is faster because not the same bike condition. Also depending on track conditions, engine brake can help more. But just my opinion.
