I like how Cam gives us a 'non professional rider' voice to learn with you. He gives the voice to the rider that can't live MX 24/7 ("well how would you do it, mr professional?") It was quirky, but a legitimate angle - us non pros don't have the level of training you do, so it might help bring out questions you wouldn't think to teach on! Thank you! Another great video!

Man, that's one big leap. Once I saw the jumps I was wondering if anyone cleared both, and AJ gave me an answer! I was also agonizing over a jump I 100% knew I could make a couple weeks ago and finally did it. Same as Cam, greased it first try. What a feeling! Then I was mad I didn't do it sooner haha.

thats how it always is with bigger ones it seems like. last month i hit this 80 ft step up thats got a big take off and i cane up short first time hurt pretty good. after that it took even more to hit it the second time then i did and cleared it 3rd gear all but at the revlimiter on a 450 to clear it

What is the best way (points to focus on) to practice trusting that your bike will fly level or slightly nose down when approaching jumps for the first time? My riding friend and I have the same lack of confidence on taking big uphill tabletop jumps at Glen Helen. You’re traveling uphill for so long it just seems hard to find the right body position approaching the take off.

Anyone notice the elbows on AJ compared to Cam on the corner before the jump? Well plus a bit of body position but first thing I noticed when I saw him in slow motion. Is the next one gonna be the quad?
@slayerfan209 Жыл бұрын
Sometimes it’s not necessarily the size or type of jump that is sketchy, its the other factors. Like when I crashed at Club Moto MX and ended up in the ICU with a broken collarbone, broken rib, punctured lung which collapsed, and a destroyed left foot (my toes were pointed towards the ground). It wasn’t the big doubles/triples, step ups, or step downs. It was the big table top by the road. I never felt good jumping it even though I was jumping it all day. It was a 4th gear jump but it was sketchy because I would get huge gusts of wind when hitting it that would push me pretty hard every time I hit it. Last lap of the day (never go out for last laps or last rides) and I ignored my gut instinct which was telling me don’t hit the jump but I sent it anyways and the wind blew my bike sideways and I slammed on my left side hard and got flash knocked out. I think I hit and got knocked out, then woke up when my head hit the ground the 2nd time

Great content AJ. I’ve never liked Suzuki but that’s a nice looking bike. In your opinion, how much does the weight of the rider matter? I’m about 230 lbs. I’ve got about 15 years of riding but not consistent riding and never on a track. I’d like to start doing some track riding. Btw I’m on a YZ250F and a YZ426F. Thanks

Riding a tall gear, being smooth, and having good neutral body position will stop that from happening!
@slayerfan209 Жыл бұрын
Watch out for wind also. I ended up in ICU with a broken collarbone, broken rib, punctured lung that collapsed, and many bones and joints in my left foot being pulverized because I ignited my gut instinct and the wind blew my back end sideways. It was a big table top (4th gear pretty high rpm on a YZ250) but because of where it was on the hill, it would get big gusts of wind. I’m talking hitting the jump on the right side and landing on the left.
