I lived there in 1975. In frame 10:15, the red coffee house to the right, I think used to be the movie theater where I saw my first Santo movie. I think a lot has changed since 1975. The police station was also located next to the square. I want to go back someday =)

I was talking with my son about moving down there. He began rambling on about the gangs throughout the country. He said, "If anyone even thinks you have money, you could get robbed." Then he went on to talk about the need to know the language before going. I took it with a grain of salt since he is 30 and fears more things than I do. I may go for a visit and see what it's like and then decide.
@RichardsWorld6 жыл бұрын
A lot of people have fear of a whole country, but most areas are quite safe and normal. Europeans might think it is too dangerous in the US because of what they see about Chicago, Detroit, NYC or the Los Angeles area. But there are lots of normal and safe areas in the US. The same goes for Mexico. The area is very well known for having lots of older foreigners retiring here.
@christophertote89126 жыл бұрын
You won't be conscious of that type of mentality. You don't have that at all. I was 31 when I moved there with my mother due to her health. One man teased one day at the market about "I have the marijuana" but he was joking the white kid(me) that day. NO ONE offered myself or the other younger ones anything in the years we were there; not even weed. We noticed some children emulating the conduct on movies so that disappointed us but it is a very nice, calm, peaceful area. Near the lake I went to a beautiful town, Mazamitla, which is in high elevation with pine trees and the like - if you saw my film you'd never believe it Mexico. I would return in a second.

I live Ajijic as an ex pat. I agree it is a beautiful delightful and a nice place to live. Compared to the United States, yes it is cost-effective. However, so many people are moving here so fast that the cost of living has gone up 33% in just a couple of years. I am impoverished senior Who worked for 40 years, but like many people, strange circumstances left me broke. I live here nicely. But so many people are coming on a daily basis that I am having to find another place to live because the cost of living is more than what I have. There are many Canadians here, who appear to be a little better then the Americans because they are here six months and often are in their second home. The Americans here are usually looking for a leaner cost of living. This beautiful village is rapidly becoming a place for gringos who have money. As I thought I had found a place to be, I have to leave and find a place where there aren't as many expats and where the cost of living is lower. Poverty is profound with the Mexicans. Flaunting your $2 million house on the hill is in poor taste. Beggars are everywhere and every day, a couple of dozen a day. Unless you are are generous enough to share, stay home. This village is being run over.

RICHARD has been to 74 countries I hear. I’m not joking if Richard goes to PAKISTAN it will become one of his favourite country. Most foreigners who arrive in Pakistan will be surprised of the hospitality of the people and the natural beauty of the country. Total opposite of the American media scare mongering. I will love to go Colombia. My next trip is PAKISTAN AND DUBAI. PAKISTAN 🇵🇰 has the beautiful green city Islamabad. Historically rich city Lahore and modern too. The beauty of Murree and Nathia Gali. And Karachi with beaches. And lots more. Long live PAKISTAN.

People are scared to visit Pakistan but once inside Pakistan their perception changes and they fall in love because of the hospitality of the people. American cassie de pecol who visited Pakistan 🇵🇰 put Pakistan in her top 5. She visited 196 countries. You can see her visit on you tube. You can see lots of people vlogging on a Pakistan nowadays. ISLAMABAD, LAHORE, MURREE, NATHIA GALI, HUNZA, NARAN KAGHAN, KARACHI AND LOTS MORE PLACES. ISLAMABAD, LAHORE AND KARACHI ARE THE CITIES. ISLAMABAD IS BEAUTIFUL GREEN CITY AND LAHORE HISTORICAL CITY AND MODERN CITY IN OTHER PARTS. YOU WILL LOVE BUT AVOID GOING ELECTIONS TIME AS THEY ARE COMING UP IN JUNE JULY I BELIEVE. YOU WILL LOVE PAKISTAN 😀 GO PAKISTAN IN OCTOBER AS THE ELECTIONS WILL BE OVER AND SUMMER HEAT WILL BE FINISHED TOO, THE WEATHER WILL BE NICE 👍
