“Ajitha Hare”, a popular kathakali padam in Kuchelavritham , written by Muringoor Sankaran Potty .
The play is about Kuchela (a poor Brahmin and a dear friend of Krishna)‘s devotion to Lord Krishna.
Kuchela and Krishna are testaments of a beautiful friendship. Despite the poverty, kuchela always provided krishna with whatever was available at his home with immense adoration & devotion. Especially ‘atukulu’ (flattened rice). It moved Krishna so much that ‘atukulu’ has become one of Krishna’s fondest foods. The song ‘Ajitha Hare’ premises Kuchela’s inability and intense urge to worship Krishna’s feet everyday. His intense devotion and admiration are reflected in the above verses .
Inspired by the version rendered by Gowri Lekshmi from the album Rathnamala , we are happy to present our version of the divine verses and the First single from the Album “The Carnatic Crossover “ , in the Raga “Sri Ragam”.

Please dont take this opinion in the wrong way , the singing was excellent but the music production , first off its a classical song so the enhancement of the beats had to be more and there were virtually no bass or any good drums involved except the one wierd repeating trebbling noise , with the same vocals please a release a tune with better production overall , and please this is just a humble opinion .

In your this song ( Iam sorry to say like this) actually is kadhakali padam - - kuchela vritham it is not naatha but original word is nata. means in malayam meaning is namikkapetunnu .

Hey! Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate your views on it. More than the views alone, we consider music of all sorts to be very divine. Fusion is a way to mix two genres together and as a musician it is a very good feeling to mix the beauty of both. Also probably a responsibility as Carnatic musician to take this genre out to much bigger audience in connection to the genres they’ve been hearing to.
