Just picked up a Xmaxx used. First run front pins fell out. Appreciate the video and information 👍

Absolutely a great video. Love the format. I’m really new to the RC car world and learning something new everyday. Thanks for this great video. I recently got my first Xmaxx and want to do some upgrades. What a great hobby.

Love the channel! Keep up the good work. /palmface = no lube in bearings. Those things come pretty dry from RPM. I've found the "X" line of parts from Traxxas to be just as durable as the RPM stuff. Soak them overnight with WD40 and they are actually more durable than the RPM stuff imo. Not sure about freezing weather so RPM may be better there. RPM rear hubs are good. The front ones are crap. Google their issue and see for yourself. If the Stock "X" series part isn't good enough, all aluminum is the way to go on the front. For arm pins M2C have just released kits that are far superior to those repurposed screws RPM uses. They purpose built and have flat heads that allow full steering without having to do all that countersinking business. They also cover the inner arms as well as the shocks. So every pin on the car is now set with a nylok nut. For pure bashing durability I'd go with an M2C bash bar (either one), Hot Racing aluminum bulkhead supports (They sit under front and rear skid plate and support the bulkheads far better than the plastic piece they replace) M2C Pin kits, front and back. A set of the REAR RPM hubs. Aluminum front hubs (Full kit). Hot Racing "emulsion" bleeder shock caps (emulsion better than bladder for bashing) Aluminum diff covers front and back. Aluminum steering wrack (with hot glue+screw filled hole ala Kevin Talbot). If you really want the best add to that an M2C drive shaft and their wide kit (uses stock arm length which keeps it strong) with the 24mm hub adapters for running Arrma tires. Those Backflip tires are the best bang for the buck imo. They cheap (vs Traxxas or Proline) come vented on the rubber (no holes inside rims) and allow great flip control.

Good to know, thank you. Question: How much does your Xmaxx weigh now that you've done all this to it?
@Silverhaze782 жыл бұрын
Nice presentation and camera work. 10/10. I tried RPM when my X-maxx was new because I liked the green color. I broke 2 of them the first time out and went back to the stock ones without issue. Now I run the Traxxas HD arms and they are very tough.
@AJJAMStudios2 жыл бұрын
HD arms are indeed tough. So far we have not had an issue with the RPM arms. Thanks for the info. AJ

i already killed my passenger steering hub the lower part completely broke off after 1 day of bashing out of the box.. :O like damn! and ever the lower arm is chewed up. RPM parts here i come! hopefully my arms last a little longer until i can get the full rpm set. note* after researching out the box fixes the traxxas stearing hubs is the first to go on the xmaxx. its a damn bashing truck not a slow and go.. im supposed to be able to go off roading through rough terrain with this beast!! im gonna get the rest of the parts i need from this video and upgrade my truck.

I folded those Hot Racing Aluminum Toe end up like butter! lolol I just buy like 10 of the plastic deals at a time to have them on hand when they break. Tristing those Hot Racing toe links up in just a couple packs hurt my feelings! :)

You are suppose to remove the blue seal on the RPM bearings and add oil...the instructions in the bag say they only have a rust preventer in them, no oil.

stopp bringing T-Brand. They are the worst. Putting others out of business, charging others because of patents they bought after the fact that they have been on the market for years and everyone used the parts.
@AJJAMStudios2 жыл бұрын
That is corporate crap. It's no different in any other industry. It's the same as saying don't eat here or don't buy the latest gadget because you object to the business that builds it, but you also deny yourself the use of something that can be useful. I don't like the way these corporations run their companies but that's the way it is in our world. We here will not exclude a company just because of objections to "legal" business practices. However, I appreciate your point of view. We (our collective) will test any RC that turns us on and share that with everyone regardless of legal company policy. After all, Traxxas holds a large part of the RC community and we will not alienate them. This reaches way beyond T-Brand, as you put it, for there are others out there that have questionable practices as well. The courts will hold sway over those who cross the line, but this is the way things are today. I may not like the company, and I'm not saying that is the case here, but I love the RCs they produce. Still, thanks for the comment. AJ

@@AJJAMStudios I've been watching RC videos before buying an RC for nearly 10 years. I finally purchased a Traxxis Slash Ultimate 4x4 short course truck and have had it for a day and a half now. I wanted to be sure about the product I was going to be spending a small fortune on, before buying and Traxxis offered a lot of "Bang for the Buck" as far as I am concerned and the Corporate boys can fight about their issues until the cows come home as far as I'm concerned! Traxxis makes a great product and competition is the way of the world in any business! I won't be bias because some other RC company is unhappy with another RC company due to corporate policy/corporate infringement appearances. I'm in this for the fun and enjoyment of the hobby and not "Corporate Politics". I also enjoy your informative and well produced videos, which is why I subscribed to your channel!

Gotta love NOT reading the hub instructions.. it states the blue bearings arnt sealed and need grease applied.. also the black bearings are sealed and filled with grease.. the newer xmaxxs all come with the same size bearings that the rpm hubs come with.. here I thought my bearings were the small types and nope. I ended up using my stock inner bearings with my rpm hubs .. dont see any reason to not use them Considering they are the exact same as the rpm ones. Just sealed.. Another thing... my rpm arms fit my rpm hinge pins .. no drilling needed.. they slid right in and that was it.. I didn't even have to touch a drill bit.. even my fronts. They fit perfectly without the need to drill.. even my stock xmaxx a arms fit my rpm hinge pins without drilling them.. no idea why people feel the need to drill them when they literally fit.. also my xmaxx was built in Augest 2022.. maybe traxxas caught on and revised the parts.

I appreciate your input. If you've seen the videos we put out then you know how dusty it is here. With unsealed bearings we do NOT lube them with oils, it attracts the dust and destroys the bearings much faster. We do wash them out with silicone spray to clean them however. The sealed ones are another story.
