I am so glad they finally forbid the constant touching, the grabbing reins, attempts to feed the horses and the irritating the horses. It had become so constant and people have been increasingly disrespectful to the Kings Guards & horses and police. RUDE to the MAX.

They might have forbid the constant touching and grabbing but it goes on far too much. I feel so sorry for the guards and the horses having to endure this daily. I love this lady officer , she doesn't pull any punches. The only way to stop this animal harassment, which it is . I don't understand why the guards inside between the pillars have chains in front of them. There should be armed officers on either side of the horse at all times to keep the public away or chain off where the pillars are on the street to keep the tourists far away from the guards and horses. This crowding the guards and horses practice has to stop!!!

The MOD officers are there to protect the public, not the troopers who are soldiers and can protect themselves. The best officer will check on the boxman, and the others come if they are signaled.

@cindyling-m4w True. But how can they do that. They will go over after a good amount of time and talk to whoever is annoying the trooper after they have been signaled by the trooper. Their main job is to be vigilant in the yard or out front. The only way they can stop someone from being bit is what is happening now, which is the trooper enforcing the sign. When they do that, it has been wonderful. The horses are calmer because they aren't being mauled, so they don't bite.

@@secretpaw-gm6lw the trooper is on duty and shouldn't be forced to constantly telling the public no. While the job is ceremonial the trooper are at work. Would you care to be constantly interrupted at work? I'm just saying that the public has outsmarted everyone. They have figured out if they mob and crowd and smother the horse getting so close to it the horse is bound to touch them. now it's the horses fault. The trooper has to have almost 3 sets of eyes to see everything when they are mobbed. More police should be out front on either side of the horse to prevent any tourist getting close. the stress on both guard and horse in situations as this is overwhelming. This is the only way to stop harassing the horse. Or shut the entire tradition down, which is sad.

This is so much nicer than the Disney goings on and the horses are so much calmer. Now bring the barricades out to keep the masses from attacking the horses and the gates shut… much more of a military feel and maybe encourage a little respect.

Yes I thought it was good about the sign unfortunately they are a waste of time if the guards aren't actively telling the people who ignore the signs to not touch their horses, the abuse is still going on some guards do tell them off but a majority don't there is no across the board decisions it seems to stop the horses being abused. The only person that I have seen really doing anything about it is this same female MOD officer and she did it long before the altered signs went up. Abuse is abuse and if the guards are not willing to stand up for their horses what use are the signs. Legal action needs to be taken on behalf of the horse and then perhaps they will do the job of protecting these beautiful scared animals. Or stop people gathering outside and being near the horses then a sign would not be needed at all. This is a working establishment not an amusement park after all. It is true that they care for the horses inside, but for some reason once the horses are outside in the boxes all care goes out the window, why would that be?

The guards have been reprimanded before for shouting at tourists. That was when it began to turn into a petting zoo so it was permitted again. I'm guessing with the new signs the guards have been told to tone down the shouting yet again. Tourists = cash.

the public is outsmarting all of you. They have figured out if they crowd and mob around the horse to the point of smothering it when the horse turns it's head now the horse is touching them and they still stick their hands and fingers out. The shoe is on the other foot and now it's the horses fault for touching them. Get it.

Well --- suppose there was a massive riot situation like what was happening in another part of London just a few days ago. Would the guards have to run get their massive rifles and run back to try to control the crowds? Does that make any sense at all? They are prepared for all situations.
