If the guards aren't going to enforce the rules then I will not be watching any longer. It's too stressful to watch the guards allowing themselves to be disrespected. Bye bye

I am right behind you, this is a shame what they are doing to the horses by letting people do what they want to them. What was the point of having new signs if they are not going to obey the rules? Should of put a new sign up saying go a head pet the horses then pull on the reins it’s ok I will not yell at you, in fact do you want to sit on the horse also. I will give you a boast up on the saddle for you also. I will take your picture also, you can even hold my sword also. But you have to be careful because it is sharp, and it can really hurt you.

I understand they do have some discretion as to when they allow touching. At the risk of sounding discriminatory I wish it was only for disabled children and adults.

People have said this so many times, I too have said the same thing. They don't care because if one stops watching, 5 more will start to watch. This tape was from yesterday when they didn't enforce it. The Lifeguards are on today, and they were enforcing it perfectly. They have been told for today, which it should be done daily but is not.

@@DianneMarshall-o6j I totally agree with you on the Disabled children and adults. The only other thing these tourists will get upset and then they will feel like they should be able to pet the horses.

I enjoyed the Royal Guard videos, the changing of the guards, the scenery etc...but the disrespect, and ignorance is unbearable I can't watch it anymore 😢

To everyone who is distressed by the abuse of the horses pleas don't just give up on these poor horses get in touch with the MOD and the new minister for defence (as the previous government thought that tourism is more important than the physical and mental wellbeing of the horses, it seems the new one is quite happy to continue this too), HCAV, and as many animal protection groups as you can. If we all do something about it the numbers should help to bring about a change. I am already in contact and having discussions with 4 animal protection groups so far. So Please don't sit back and ignore what is going on for the abused horses sake. Thanks! Unfortunately we can't do anything about the rude,, and ignorant zombies that come to Horse guards but we can make life for the horses better sooner rather than later 💖

I'm in Canada and emailed the regimental adjutant not once but twice. I also emailed the news station who aired two clips , one on the woman being bit and one on reporting what is going on at the horse guards that they are wishy washy in their reporting. lastly I wrote to her Royal Highness the Princess Royal in showing the worlds displeasure of how the horse guards are run and that no other country's military would put up with the disrespect form the public. I do believe that the horses are well taken care or and loved by the troopers but this is too much.

This is the British army, these troopers are being watched from the cameras in the box and in the arches. We see them getting teased and nothing is done because they are tough army soldiers and can take more. BUT with the boxman just take the signs down and let it be a free for all because these people who like just taking their pictures and moving on are cringing because you have people standing there looking at the sign while holding the horses head and holding the horse under the neck and the head gear and feeding apples to the horses, and the guards who let this happen it is horrible and you think wow they are watching this happen and you wonder why did they get that sign? It doesn't make sense for it to be at the troopers' discretion. Sorry guys, I really do respect you all, but you know consistency is the answer. An order is an order, not "ah they can pet him or her, I said so" But if they are told "No touching" things can be better with a NO, Then people who would play the game won't play the game, they'll say "ahh maybe not" We just want you to take the Barrick back......

Read the signs. Guard should enforce the signs. Why is the Guard directing the horse to be closer to the tourists?

Exactly. It’s obvious why the guard is directing his horse towards the tourists…he wants them to pet it. Only goes to prove these horses are for the benefit of the ignorant tourists and not, as some people maintain, doing a job “guarding”. Rubbish !

They need to remove both those signs because they don’t mean bugger all when everyone is pawing the horse & the donkey on top has lost his voice he once used to have..” get off the reins “… donkey doesn’t have rein problems.. it’s a .. get back problem .. not a good tourist’s babysitter

If the guards are not going 5o uphold the new signs they should be reported. Continually touching the horses is abuse and cruel. If the guards aren't prepared to protect the horses they should stop having the horses at the front of Horse Guards.

If you are all enraged as I am to the treatment the guards and horses are receiving from the tourists then do what I did and email the Household Cavalry, MOD, London District and digital news to voice your concerns about the disrespectful display by the tourists to keep them far away from the horses

The donkey riding the horse is a useless donkey who once used to get in a twist & charge his horse at people about” don’t touch the reins”.. he’s well relaxed now “ NO MORE WORK TO DO “.. go to sleep 😮

The guards that do not correct the tourists that touch the Horse and or the reins equates to a wimp. Those of us who care about the Horse are expecting the guard do to do his or her job which is to protect the Horse. The Horse should be the priority. Always.

This non enforcement of the signs is showing the guards as weak and wimps. And is putting the horses in danger. Bring back the real kings guard who take no nonsense from these tourons
