"Meg isn't a great drummer." Thats the point. Jack White prefers that. He's said in many interviews that he liked how simple and powerful it was. He's a drummer before a guitarist and he can play much more intricately, but doesn't like it with the white stripes. Listen to his solo stuff when he plays with his bands and plays White Stripes songs, they are good, but the more complex and proper drumming kind of takes away from the "thump" of Meg. God bless Meg for her basic drumming and Jacks godly not giving a shit attitude!

In a world where every drummer wants to do some crazy technical death metal style drumming, someone like Meg is such a relief to play with. You minimal drummers, god bless you.
@benlogan4305 жыл бұрын
Tyler Gibb f... that Meg is an awesome drummer. That wasn’t an attack! Lol She plays exactly what fits the music. And I’m a thirty year jazz drummer with a Roy Haynes, Elvin Jones type style. A good drummer keeps the tempo and plays what the song needs. So Ringo and Meg are both excellent drummers/musicians. Musicianship is the most important factor not chops. Chops don’t get the gig...
@lewisdean1075 жыл бұрын
@@benlogan430 Meg doesn't keep tempo tho? She's a sloppy drummer and whilst I can understand why some people find that appealing, I can also understand others find it frustrating.

@Justin-rm6su9 жыл бұрын
AaronLikesSpaghetti Because he really is one of the most talented acts to come from the 21st century. He's just such a great musician and breath of life in the world of shitty commercialized music. I realize that people shit on Meg a lot, which she isn't a very good drummer, but The White Stripes don't need Neil Peart on the drums. They're a stripped back approach to blues/garage rock, all they need is a decent drummer and they're golden. They make simple music, it doesn't require much in terms of drumming.
