Very cool Swedish variant of the G3 bayonet. I have never seen a ceremonial type before. This family of bayonets is another that I have overlooked for years because I have just seen so many of them that their commonality fooled me into thinking they couldn't be very interesting, but you proved me wrong. Great video, thanks for sharing!

I thought I bought on of these Swedish G3 bayonets a few years ago but after this im not sure. Mine only has the Swedish property mark, no serial number or makers mark. The blade has a black coating on it ,a nd the muzzle ring is very thin compared to the example in the video, and the grip has six bumps instead of five. So I'm not sure what I have? Edit: after some digging it appears to be a Danish bayonet, with Swedish property mark. so not sure what that's about.

Where can you get the G3 German bayonet in Aus?
@pointynotsharp8436 Жыл бұрын
Generally you have to find them overseas online. I'm still trying to get a German one for a reasonable price

Do You know what kind of steel it is? Would You use it occassionaly as a knife, would You sharpen it?
@pointynotsharp8436 Жыл бұрын
I don't know which type of steel these were made of but generally bayonets don't make the best knives. I would advise against sharpening them as it wrecks the value and often the steel will not hold an edge well. Originally they may have been sharpened but the purpose of a bayonet is to thrust and not slash
