Those are some great bayonets! The Italian ones are a quite interesting part of Cold War as well. Even more interesting that the Italians would produce Garands for other countries as well lol

Cheers and thanks for the comment as always....yes there is more to the garand bayonet than meets the eye 🙂🙃🙂

Now you need two Garands for those to go on.

I can say I have a UFH union fork and hoe company dated 1943. Parkarized blade my dad brought back when he was discharged from Army hospital in Utah in late 1945. He brought a whole bunch of U.S. field gear nice bayonets Stan there a whole host of countries that made the Garland bayonet and a lot of foreign makers after the war.

Cheers Timothy, good info and nice to have a genuine ww2 one from your dad. Yeh I wasn't aware of the different countries making them , not until I bought this one, all the best 🙂🙂

Yes, Utica also made M1 bayonets during WWII. I have a nice WWII Utica made M3 fighting knife. That Italian bayonet is a good honest item in it's own right - no need to 'Americanize' it in my opinion.

Thanks Al, yes the Italian bayonet is a solid item....I bought it as it was advertised as an American one. When it arrived I realised so I contacted the dealer, to be fair he gave me some money off so no harm done and I got the bayonet for a good price 🙂🙃🙂

To be fair Stan if you want a genuine US M1 you may as well fork out the money for one instead of repos and that. Chelmsford militera sell them for about £160 . It’s a dealer I’ve bought from for a few years. He’s very good. But be aware. From the 22 April this year , Royal Mail are banning blades/knives/ Bayonets being posted. So only currier companies like parcel force who soldier of fortune use will only post bayonets and the like. So I would invest in a genuine ww2 use m1 bayonet. I’ve got one . I personally wouldn’t have anything repo. As a repo will always be a repo.

Cheers Andrew and yes I know what you mean regarding repros, I personally do have quite a few bits of repro stuff, but that suits my purposes and my pocket....especially ww2 german🤣, although I do like to buy original german items where it is warranted, german helmet ....yes.....ww2 tunic....probably not, I'd be too worried about moth damage. Regarding the bayonets , the reasons I bought these two was because the repro was dirt cheap and I'd seen a video on how well made they were, but the Italian one was advertised on a militaria site as Korean war era , again decent price , but when I got it I realised something was amiss....so that's how I ended up with them. To be honest I enjoyed the project of aging the repro....kept me busy for an afternoon....thanks again and all the best 🙂🙃🙂🙃

@@steelhelmetstan7305 yeh I can understand why people do buy repo stuff. If the original stuff is so expensive or very hard to get. Just be aware of the new Royal Mail news. I only found out this week on a Facebook bayonet group I’m on on and I contacted two dealers I buy from and they are both aware of it and I also checked online as well and it’s true
