Called 'Song of Joy after the Hunt' this vibrant song uses hindewhu, poly rhythmic percussion, clapping and yodeling. Enjoy the sound of the forest people! Complex! Vintage recording.

returning to this, still in awe. i did find some good music bovenga following your advice. wonder if you have the reference for this specific recording, would really like to get a "good" (not a youtube rip) quality copy of this, and maybe if there are, of the other recordings that went along with it. thanks

Of course you're right, Watermelon Man was utilizing this flute/voice tech, only one example of how indigenous music makes it into the mainstream.

Sounds like Herbie Hancock's Watermelon Man.

Search for pygmy music! (Forest People is the PC designation). As of now, Baka Beyond has plenty of great tunes, but my own channel has a more broad sampling.
