Great techniques. I would add one more (as is super simple use it all the time) - lfo volume, filter and pitch (just a bit) on hihats. Also using same sample with different hits but with more attack or less decay on envelopes.

@@oracularmusic.. Hey , well , a midi set up guide ( with or with out ableton ) would be useful , and some basic walk through stuff how to make a beat or a song/track , would be really helpful as well tbh , and though there are various mpc video's out there , many are out of date or done in a way that are difficult to follow , like i was looking at an ableton midi set up video , and from what i can gather a certain ableton control function has been removed via updates , i could be wrong but that what i figured ! ? , also it's kinda shocked me i've had to plug in old fashioned din midi leads to connect it to my mac , in standalone mode , i've been using ableton for years but i didn't expect to have to learn a whole new eco system to get the MPC to work , so i wonder how new owners struggle with that also ?

@londreslush Duly noted my friend! I will say that I am mostly a standalone user but I will see what I can do. A little cook up from scratch video is planned very shortly. I figured I may do one that covers building a sample based beat from scratch and then a seperate video building a beat with the internal plugins. Cheers!
