Akai MPC Key 61 - Recording a Ballad Loop

The Akai MPC Key 61 is great for beats, but what about softer ballads? In this video I record a simple ballad loop using the same method as the typical beat making, but with no drums! The MPC Key 61 makes recording ideas so quick and easy that you can build out an entire song idea in a matter of minutes! Great Video. My problem is I wanna loop record but at the end of 8 bars I need the Record button to go off so it will not keep recording without tapping the white loop tab off. a couple of years ago before all the updates we had that option. is there any kinda setting I can use to tell the machine to end recording after 8 Bars?

Hey @DSoundman thank you for all the great videos. Is it possible once you create a loop in MPC Keys to play it back and change the key in real time for live singing like an arranger keyboard? I’m coming from a Yamaha S950 and wondering how you might set this up for a live performance.

No not necessarily, for me I prefer to produce my songs on the computer with a bigger screen and a DAW like pro tools. That’s not to say you couldn’t produce a full song on the MPC Key though…just my preference! 😀

This sounds alright the nylon string this keyboard is worth the money because it has a daw system first keyboard ever and cheaper the price over Yamaha and korg very modern as wellplus 6000 presets

Not onboard but you can find expansions with various samples saxophones. Sampled brass and woodwinds often sound better that built in patches on keyboards.
