Completely random and unrelated question from a newbie who has been watching all of your videos and learning thanks to you! How would you connect a Roland Integra to the Key 37? The hope would be to be able to integrate the Integra’ sounds within the Key 37 as you do with Sounds or as a MIDI source, but as the Integra has 6000 sounds, it would be great to be able to add them to the 37 and use it as the main sounds source somehow..! Many thanks!

Nice set up. Looking forward to how you use the Akai key 37 live. I have connected my Akai 37 to my Nord stage 3 via MIDI cables and can play the Akai sounds directly from my Stage 3.

Sounds very Rolandish

On its own you would think the Akai sounds are great but compared with the Nord… oh my…. Easy to hear even on an iPad via KZbin. The Nord sounds richer more textured and just a class ahead. 😊

Doug great vidz! Subbed ! QUESTION 🙋- ever thought of hooking up an Akai road hammer 88 weighted midi controlled keyboard to the MCP 61? I have sent a note to Akai asking how I can get more octaves for a “truer” 88 key piano arrangement for orchestral compositions. Any thoughts to this ? Or is it just a wait for Akai to drop the 88 MCP version ? I must say for Akai’s first Keyboard version it looks like a strong competitor, I mean how many revisions of the Nord and Yahama lines are there ? 4 and yahama bow with the mod8x + , 7+, + series ..

Great Video. My problem is I wanna loop record but at the end of 8 bars I need the Record button to go off so it will not keep recording without tapping the white loop tab off. a couple of years ago before all the updates we had that option. is there any kinda setting I can use to tell the machine to end recording after 8 Bars?

Secondo me il nord stage ha una pasta sonora che all'interno di un mix esce di più. Mi sembra più incisivo. Il suono del korg è molto bello da sentire da solo, morbido, però nella tessitura media ha poche armoniche per cui in una band il suono di piano classico potrebbe perdersi.

Nord guys have mastered piano sampling, not sure what they do but they let their pianos sound real and present, it's a shame there's no sound module as stand-alone option, everything else on the Nord is replaceable by other keyboards nowadays

One of the most important differences is the Key37 has USB Midi, inexplicably missing on the 61.

Hey Douglas, I am using the oxygen pro 49 and am trying to get it to play nicely in Luna! I have been working with a custom preset as there isn’t dedicated Luna one. Have managed to get most controls to work, but cannot seem to get faders to work to control volume and would really like them to. Can you help? Thanks

@craigbroadfoot1851 "It’s a myth that grand piano actions are always heavier", and you're right, actually they are lighter. Grand pianos don't need a complex and heavy mechanism because they already use the gravity in its best position of actuation upon the hammers. I think the digital piano keybeds are intentionally made heavier to mimic vertical pianos what for me is a big mistake. About Nord Grand, I would never buy one, for a equipment named "Grand" it should be using long key lengths like Grand Feel action used in Kawai MP11SE. If you really want to play a "Grand", there many, many better options from Roland, Kawai and Yamaha which are really intended for the professional or high level pianists

So many whiny complaints on this video… These demos are great. The MPC Key 61 is a quirky Swiss Army knife. I like bringing it to jam sessions and with standalone stem separation, pretty interesting way to perform covers with live musicians or on your own.

Looks good. Not sure I understand the value proposition. There is a customer for this keyboard but I’m not exactly sure who it was intended to serve.

I like to connect midi out to my Kong SV-1 for it’s organ sounds. I also like to hook up the Yamaha Reface YC just to have hardware sliders and dials. The action of the key bed is pretty great for organ.

works with others too! tysm. some have a design that doesnt allow for perpendicular, in which case you can make them parallel instead of 45 degrees and theyll fit nicely.

You play beautifully. Nord have such horrible sounds though 🤮 Korg and Akai leading the way.
