How do I go back to the screen where I can choose the sound templates? For instance at 3:01 you just went back to the genre rectangles to select an empty temple .

How much cpu did you use for those effects? Can you do some tests ie how many reverbs before it cracks or .. filters, compressors .. something to give us an idea exactly how much it can handle?

Thank you for saying how sequencer tracks it has.nobody else has said it. only that it has 8 audio tracks in stand alone mode.

Yep more expensive but here in Europe (France exactly) the DT is 769 euros...the MPC live 999 euros. So the price difference is very thin when you compare the specs and power between the MPC live and the DT. The DT is overpriced IMHO.

does this have an automatic sample chop so it will put highpoints of drum breakbeat samples straight onto different pads ..a bit like a recognition system for the parts of a drum kit like for example...bass to one pad, clap to another, snare to another. Please add that technology... that would be magic

Interesting. It can re-sample from the machine, right? If so, the XY touchscreen fx will come in handy... like a certain other sampler that shall not be named! It's a shame they couldn't be bothered to include CV/Gate outputs though, especially for the price, especially since the program has the option, especially in this day and age. Looks like an excellent workstation though.

That's true but they still should have included it on the Live. Even the Akai Rhythm Wolf had Gate Trigger I/O. It seems like either a huge oversight or their goal was to try and push people to get the X. Which I'm not interested in.

John Doe for the price point and size, there's only so much you can cram in the MPC Live. If you add CV, what's the point in buying the flagship?

That's a good question in general... but I think the X appeals to Akai Ren producers and studios. I don't think CV on the X is enough to convince me to spend double the price of the Live. I really don't understand why they didn't include it. Especially since it's a standalone workstation. No CV on the Akai Touch...sure that's understandable but not on the portable Live? I can still use modular gear with the Live using a MIDI-to-CV module but it's just inconvenient. The Live software still has CV on it! It's a real head scratcher. Also, lots of little gear includes CV/Gate (Microbrute for example) so they could have found some room.

You cant use 3rd party VSTs in SA mode BUT it come with its own VSTs now that work in SA mode!! Its amazing. THEN when you want your 3rd party VSTs just connect it to the software...BUT in all reality you CAN use your VSTs in SA mode by just using the AUTO SAMPLER they just released for it. So to really answer the question YES...You can use VSTS in SA mode. Use the ones it comes with OR just Auto sample yours! The MPC is like having BOTH at the same time! GET ONE! =) @@drastic209562

Just wanna throw this out there. If you plan on putting your MPC Live in a bag beware that the power button will turn it on and drain it. I really wish they would have recessed the button. Maybe someone will design fb a new power button to swap out? It was a big disappointment to me the other day when this happened though.
