i appreciate you lifted noise, your explanations are very concise you take the time to explain very clearly every step and the ramifications , i just got my mpc live and i am new to every aspect of it , so you can imagine my ignorance of it from the jump. i got a roland 909 sequencer which the process of sequencing and recording is much simpler but I've had it for a while it the function buttons have done their time and i also wanted to delve into something more up to date so thank you , i would very much like to pick your brain in the near future about some more topics for example i stumbled upon how to set the mpc live to do auto save but i am not happy with it because it keeps saving in the middle of every move i make every so often i wanna set it back to normal but i forgot where i got the info from and i can't seem to find my way back to putting back the way it was. if you have some tips for me i would surely appreciate that. thank you.
@LiftedNoise5 жыл бұрын
🙏 thank You. Very encouraging. Go ahead pick away and also I looked into the auto save. When you press menu, at the top of the screen is cog/wheel icon. This is your preferences, once you press this to the left there is a PROJECT LOAD/SAVE option, press on it, from there you will see an AUTO SAVE ENABLED check box. Uncheck it. You should be back to just saving manually.

@@LiftedNoise Thnx so much G ! I really hope it’s a Dual voltage device . In that case we just need a universal adapter and the mpc can be safely used anywhere in the world without worrying about the voltage output , like 110v USA , 220v India , cuz the black adapter acts as a voltage step down/up converter .

Besides "Purge" how can u exclude tons of sounds not used in program song, but were auto loaded with pre made kits chosen from? Thanks.
@LiftedNoise5 жыл бұрын
I believe purge is the only way. You could unassign the samples you dont want from the program and then purge. Your only options with purge are UNUSED SAMPLES meaning samples within a program or ALL SAMPLES meaning everything within a program
@djcoolcliff5 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial sir!!! Curious, how do you remove samples out of the sample pool if you not using them after you purge?
@LiftedNoise5 жыл бұрын
I don't think they'd still be there. All samples that aren't being used, I believe this means samples not within a program, will be removed when you press purge.
@philnash2224 жыл бұрын
Great vid bro. Do you know if there’s a way to purge unused samples in standalone mode?

Yes. The little folder icon at the top of the main screen gives you options to save and also purge any samples that aren't being used in a program.

@@philnash222 are you sure your samples aren't being used in a program? If any the samples you want to purge are assigned to a pad or even in an audio track i think, they won't be purged. Make sure to remove them first and then do the purge.

When you purge does the MPC permanently delete those samples from its internal memory?

It does not delete them permanently, they are still saved internally and can be loaded again. When you do a purge they are just removed from the current project and it frees up space in the sampling ram.

You have to load the .xpn drum program file. If it doesn't have one you would have to program it yourself. When you load a sample individually it gives you an option where to assign it, you can select where by pressing a pad. Hope this helps.
