I'm using an mpc 60 from the 80's same version from the factory never been upgraded and still uses 3.5 floppies very limited but not my mind , software and hardware these days do everything for you I dont even use quantize but my drums are super dope the limitations make you super creative

I have to agree and I respect you for a useing legendary gear. I Tell everyone having all these sounds in the MPC is a gift I remember buying an MPC 2000xl that did not have sounds lol. mad respect to you sir 💯

poli popo I also found a way to use flatten function on the X to create more then 4 layers to a key group, not just drums... and I am working on created banks of different instruments, then you load a project, you can load a templet of banks with different program sound of your choice all at the same time ready to create your beat or song instead of one at a time.. there is always more then one way to skin a cat... I will share this info in the near future.....the objective is to make the X more sound ready in standalone mode independent from the software.. in other words just like when you turn on your hardware synth the sounds are already and available to play, same for the X it can be done, and you can pick and choose what sound banks that will fit your needs and of course you can edit or add as well depending on how much ram memory you want to use

poli popo, true, I've sampled using the auto-sampler with different ride numbers and sample doesn't sound the same quality wise it has a tin-can sound to it.. a matter of fact when I manually sample the old way before 2.3 update auto-sampler way, it sounded better then auto sampler and that is with just one sample not across the whole key board.......... I do not understand that... a mater of fact I sample with FL studio any version starting with fl 6 on up will work. just go to piano-roll draw in about 15 to 20 bars at a tempo of 39 for strings, bass, woodwind, pad, piano and synth type sounds, you dont have to worry about looping your strings, pads, brass, synth and woodwind because when fl studio is set to loop, you just render the wav file and it is already looped perfectly, you don't have to do x fade on the wav file or nothing then load the wav as a key-group into your X, you can render the wav file with FX or just dry and add FX later using your X.. and you can use FL studio sample drums as well say if you have turn table or CD or whatever just use FL studio Edison it will let you chop up regions of that song to hit just drum hits, then render the drum chop and you will get kicks, snares, high hats even some Tom and percussion hit this is how sophisticated FL Edison is. lately this is how I have been sampling and when I use the X to sample it do it manual the old way because the quality sound better than auto-sampler quality for some reason........one other thing FL Studio note mapping is different from other DAW and hardware note mapping, middle C (C3) is really C5 on FL Studio keyboard so if you want to render wav file in middle C3 draw your bars in C5,....C4 = C6, C5= C7 etc.... I'm just dropping some knowledge, that is what it is all about sharing knowledge....peace

poli popo, even when you turn off the lowpass filter and remove FX from drums if you are using auto-sampler vs manual sampler, the auto-sampler quality is not as good as using the old way of sampling with the X..... the stock sounds have already been sampled from Akai's factory, far as the dry sound is concerned, then when they create the sample packs at Akai they add FX in some of the drums and of course keygroups but when you try to resample from a VST instrument in auto-sampler the quality is not the same as the VST instruments using auto- sampler dry or FX no matter if you use 6 ride, 8 ride, 3 ride etc...the only time the VST resampled sound the same as the original VST is when you manually sample the old way before auto-sampler update... I know I am making a lot of comments I am just trying to point out there is a flaw in the auto- sampler sound quality.. do a test drive and resample a VST instrument with auto-sampler and then with the old way of sampling, just sample one note like C3 create two kegroup with the same sound and compare the quality of both samples spread across the whole keygroup... and you will see what I am talking about far as removing FX from the stock drum sounds I had been doing that since I had my MPC2500 and removing compression from the stereo output, but if I can the 2500 stocks sound lowpass filter was not on by default. but most of the factory stock drum sounds did have FX on them I just removed and made a copy of them so that I had dry and FX of the stock factory sound
