Every Stem system out isn't 100% perfect, including the software version, it depends on the sample. For Standalone, it's cool for now, and as future updates come, I'm sure it'll improve. Nicely done my brother!!🙏🏾✊🏾💚

Mpc Stems Standalone is cool but it's needs a Lil work, I'm sure Andy Mac and the good fellas at Akai will come out with a update in the near future to fix the minors issues it has , but let the fun begin !

I love stem splitting but on logic it makes it heavy on the computer and then i have to backtrack super hard. Works when it wants to but its still a new tool.

Not all songs are able to be properly separated due to how they were originally recorded. Second, even after proper separation you still need to know how to make those separated sounds more refined. I will say that from experience it’s not easy at all! It takes a lot of time and experience. Plus a great mastering ear. This is all during beat production. Not in the mix and master phase so not all can do what I described.

Is there a way to tell which samples will work? Cos I'm seeing a lot of varying results from people using it in standalone. Still gonna pick it up and play around with it though for sure

The main thing is the sample source itself, a clear vinyl is top shelf next a CD and or sampling from Spotify or Tidal. The better the source the better the stems

@@kirkstate That's what I was thinking, a dusty and scratched old record or low quality stream is going to produce a lot of artifacts through stems. I wonder how much the style/genre being sampled plays a part too

@@kirkstate even then it still falls back on how it was recorded. Many recordings have track leakage. Others have zero separation as they were not recorded on separate tracks. Similar to some motown stuff where they recorded everything one shot on a 4-8 track. Even some stuff from current day have this same issue. You pretty much have to test which will work and which won’t. I have a few beats sitting still right now because no matter what I do, I can not clean up the stem sample good enough. Hopefully in the future their detection software will get better.
