@@krakou2 Any 808/909/707 and so on, All only sound "good" with heavy processing. I'd suggest that you are the one that needs to BC. As u are coming a cross as some what ignorant to what you are talking about. This video shows what a "creative mind" has done with what some other " not so creative" minds call weak/limited and in some cases crap. I keep coming back to this awesome track! :-) :-) :-) i tried syncing my Mini Brute to RW by configuring MB as you said but then the send clock switch on the RW didn't seem to engage- I'm sure it was me doing something wrong.
@Motone8 жыл бұрын
MiniBrute or MicroBrute? The MiniBrute (not SE) has an arpeggiator, not a sequencer. The arpeggiator will do nothing, unless you press some keys. Have you set the RW's MIDI Out/Thru to OUT (SHIFT + 12)? If set to THRU, it will not transmit MIDI clock.
@TROGULAR100008 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm clear about that, want to sync arpeggiator to RW. I'll check the MIDI Out/Thru switch. thanks again. i'll soon be sequencing the minibrute anyway with the help of a Novation Circuit, which i'm thinking might replace the RW, although i like it. I saw the very cool new drum machine from Arturia too but will probably try the Circuit drums for a while. are you gonna make more and more tracks like this or what? dreamy electro with CODAs, that's what i need

I was looking through some videos to get a feel about what the Wolf can do, and I can't say I have been impressed. I came across your video, and this is a freaking jam!!!! I've always said, its the man in front of the machine and not the machine in front of the man. Excellent work there buddy. I'm certain you could have banged that out with any drum machine. Keep up the great work!
@bobbywizdum52486 жыл бұрын
Only real knock on the wolf is that there are no independent outs. Its build is solid, sound is unique but the inability to track the kick/snare /hats seperate limits the dynamic range of all 3. Still a cool unit though.
@thefumigator9 жыл бұрын
Danelectro rocks! Also its nice that the wolf has its own output for the bass only, so you are able to connect, lets say, a distortion pedal right from the output of the bass and make some 303 acid bass lines

Very nice. can the akai sequence the arturia synth while being a drum track?
@Motone8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can sequence any MIDI sound generator with the RW. The Bass Synth part sends MIDI notes on channel 1. Unfortunately you cannot program legato notes.
@-thirteen8 жыл бұрын
+Mo tone (motone) Thabks. no legato seems tough
@Motone8 жыл бұрын
+modcraft13 Well, you can tie notes in the RW's sequencer, but this will result in the first note having a length of 2 (or more) steps. There's no way to program a glide (a transition between two different notes). Strangely this works with the internal bass synth, but not when sequencing external sound generators via MIDI. See also: community.akaipro.com/akai_professional/topics/rhythm-wolf-tied-notes-are-not-played-via-midi

Im a newb to sequencers.. can anyone help me understand what is the brute doing here? How are the two interacting? Is the "synth out" jack commanding the brute in place of the wolf's bass? trying to figure out how to use my wolf with my dsi prophet....
@Motone7 жыл бұрын
The Microbrute is synced to the Rhythm Wolf via MIDI (Rhythm Wolf MIDI OUT to Microbrute MIDI IN), that's it. The Microbrute has its own sequencer.
@Knardsh7 жыл бұрын
Ok. So the Microbrute is just playing a sequence that was programmed on it..? I'm confused what the bass synth of the wolf is doing? I thought it was controlling the brute somehow..

Hi man I have come back to this very nice jam because I now have the RW and the Minibrute, just tried to send clock only through MIDI from RW to MB and thought I did everything right but somehow it was triggering notes which I didn't want to do at this point. basically i wanted to get an arpeggio going on the MB and vary its speed with the RW. Do you know what I need to do?
@Motone8 жыл бұрын
+TROGULAR 10,000 I think you need to set the Minibrute's MIDI channel to some other than 1 or 10 (that are the RW's channels for Bass and Drums). And you need to set the MiniBrute to external MIDI sync. IIRC there's a software that you have to download and run to do those settings on the MB. As an alternative you can try to trigger the MiniBrute via the Gate-Trigger-Out of the RW.

@Motone9 жыл бұрын
+Jair Abrego You should be able to sequence one synth sound and four drum sounds of the S08. Just connect a MIDI cable from RW MIDI-OUT to S08 MIDI-IN and make sure the MIDI channel of the S08's synth part that you wish to control is set to 1 (drums are on channel 10 by default).
@fonostorigile8 жыл бұрын
Wow, great! Can you play a synth through guitar pedals right away or you need some precaution because of the line level signal?

Impressive work, thanks man! Question : could we sync a MB to a RW (or tomcat) just with the two of them? Or a midi clock is mandatory? Thanks for your help
@Motone8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you simply need a MIDI cable. Rhythm Wolf and Tom Cat both can transmit MIDI clock and Micro/MiniBrute can be synced to it.
@benjaminheyndrickx8 жыл бұрын
Hey Mo. Thanks a lot for your help, I've managed to sync them and it's on now :) I had a few syncing problems at the beginning as the MB was playing the disco toms of the Tom Cat, quite weird, but I've finally changed the channels selection with the MB software and it now works perfectly. Thanks again!

how did you connect the microbrute and the wolf? and do you sequence via the brute or the wolf?
@Motone8 жыл бұрын
The Rhythm Wolf syncs the Microbrute via MIDI. Everything else is done using the internal sequencers of each device.
