Hey, Absolutely amazing. Extremely informative. I remember watching this movie when I was a kid, I still watch it today. Pony boy was my favourite character and I had the biggest hots for cherry. I believe the actress who plays her is actually indeed married or used to be married to someone famous in the movies. Thank you both yet again and more so for the bonus material… the acting 🤣. Extremely authentic 🙏❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

Thanks so much Wayne! It's such a classic movie (and novel!) Diane Lane is a beautiful actress, and you're correct - she was married to Josh Brolin (who you might remember as the big brother in Goonies, among other roles) but they're now divorced. Anyway, thanks for watching our videos!

@@Our80sLife Good morning. Yes, I remember him. Brilliant movie. If my memory serves me correctly, the last movie I watched of his was Sicario, along with Emily Blunt. Emily is one of my favourite actresses. Let’s face it, when was the last time we saw a woman taking the leading role in a movie? It’s great to see a female take centre stage without taking her clothes off regardless how beautiful she is. When I watch film I like how an Actor/Actress makes a fictional character come to life, when ilia the viewer actually thinks we’re watching a real life person, I absolutely love that. That’s what shows a great Actor/Actress. Now days it’s all about money, getting the Actor/Actress to promote the movie. I’m sorry, I think I’ve gone completely off track here …oops sorry 🤣. I’m not hinting here but I’ve you both watched the 80s cheesy movie, No retreat no surrender? It’s my all time favourite 80s movie believe it or not? one of actors (Dean the Shooting Star Ramsay) played my Dale Jacoby follows me on instagram lol we we actually follow each other lol hi cools that? Basically he was impressed my knowledge of the movie as it was so such a long time ago.

I don't remember this movie all that well but I know many have said it's a cool movie. I will definitely watch it this summer with my family. That Dallas shooting reenactment was hysterical. 😆 And get Ben & Erin from Hometown to restore the Rexall Store asap, I like those old soda fountain places! Incidentally, every time I hear Matt Dillon, I always think of Gunsmoke with James Arness. I watched those reruns with my dad during my childhood and occasionally when I visit him today. Just funny, it was years until I realised there was an actual actor with that name.

Thanks so much for this compilation. This is probably my favourite film ever (instead of the usual suspects greatest films we all love like Godfather and The Good The Bad) but this is more heartfelt and private as I was about the same age as Ponyboy at the time. In 1985 in Manchester, England we read the book in class and my English Literature teacher even got a VCR :) and we watched it in class once we finished the book. I just loved Stevie Wonder's theme song it felt so emotional. I for some time even felt like Ponyboy and sometimes Dallas Winston trying to impress girls :) I've never been to this location and maybe one day. Thanks

WHAT ABOUT THE ABANDONED CHURCH THEY HID FOR A BIT AFTER THE MURDER?? JUST CURIOUS.
@Our80sLife2 жыл бұрын
It's totally gone. We tried to track down the location, but didn't have any luck. Most locals will tell you it's been covered by a lake. Some say it's on private farm land. Either way, we just couldn't figure it out, but we know it no longer exists.

The last I researched it was said the general area has been flooded, I don’t think the church stands anymore since water leveled the place

Although the story takes place in the 60's, The Outsiders was filmed in 1983.

I used to get drunk there also. With a guy named mark. He lived there with his grandparents who owned the house. They moved them across the street from that house while they filmed the movie. Pretty cool. I lived at 1211 Trenton

Thank you for the tour. I remember going to the Admiral Twin , and yes it's still open. Also taking my kids to the Tasty Freeze in Owasso before they tore it down. It was sad to see it go.

The movie was good, but the book was great. I was born and raised in Tulsa and lived there from 1960 to 1979. I could picture all the locations and relate to the charcters as I read the book. The Admiral Twin Drive In was a great place to hang out in the 60s and 70s in Tulsa. There is a bar called the Bowen Lounge at 11th and Denver Street shown early in the movie that was demolished years ago. The corner (11th and Denver) had a lot of character back in the day.

Very cool! We loved seeing the locations in person. Tulsa is a great city! We hope to visit again and see a movie at the Admiral Twin. If you get a chance to go back, we recommend making plans to visit The Outsiders House Museum. It's awesome!! Thanks for stopping by our channel and watching our videos!

@@Our80sLife That is a good idea, my wife would like that. I just found your channel. I have lived in Wichita and Tulsa for for about 40 years total. I moved to Tennessee in 2008, my wife and I still get back to Wichita and Tulsa every three or four years. I like KZbin videos about Oklahoma and Kansas history. Thanks for sharing.

Fun fact: it actually was raining in the rumble scene the first day, but not the next, so they got rain machines to shoot the second part, but it was really cold outside so everyone was really cold

Yes, that's so interesting! Gotta love that movie magic!! When I read the novel (after watching the movie) I was surprised that it actually wasn't raining during the rumble in the book. That explains it! Thanks for stopping by our channel :)

I watched several of the scenes being filmed in Owasso & Tulsa in fact I video taped some of it but over the years seems to have disappeared hopefully I will eventually find it and I will post it since there is a lot of interest in this movie. The scenes that were filmed in the bar was actually the house my high school friend lived in I recognize some of the shots in his sisters old bedrooms and was standing outside watching the filming that night, when they put the beer neon signs the neighbors were all upset and mad that there was a new "beer joint" opening right next door. sadly it was demolished for a motel, there was also a U-totum that was exterior shots of the robbery which was filmed in Owasso...many people cant figure out where this was at but it was just West 86th North & Main..it is also gone.

That's amazing that you got to witness the filming of such an iconic movie! So cool!! We hope you're able to locate your original behind-the-scenes tapes. We'd definitely enjoy seeing that, and I'm sure others would as well. How interesting that the "bar" was your friend's house! We knew it had been torn down, but we didn't know it was actually a private residence. Thanks for stopping by our channel and sharing your memories! Stay Gold :)

@@Our80sLife Yes It was pretty cool, being in Oklahoma we didnt see much movie making in the process. I remember hundreds of Owasso residents coming out to watch. Francis Ford Coppola was always riding along on a camera boom with wheels every time I saw him and even yelled at me to move back at the Tastee Freez scenes when filming since the cameras could see my reflection in the glass of the store. The bar house was an old early century two story boxy concrete flat roof house with a basement and was quite elaborate trim wise internally, my friend had moved to Ohio about three years earlier and I believe no one lived there at the time..its location was at GPS 36.16018050749484, -95.79347363645039 near 161st & Admiral Tulsa it was a large house and had considerable acreage The Hard Rock Hotel is where the house sat and the Burger King is where its barn was. I saw the filming of the Tastee Freez scenes ,the parade scenes, the bar scenes & the U-totum exterior scene its GPS location was at 36.278240012292486, -95.85601643778176 in Owasso. You are the first to have this information since I have never really told anyone about being there but I know the movie has a good cult following and this trivia might be of interest to some..now if I could just find that tape..BTW great job on your videos
