Trying to figure out the backstory of this game is like writing every line of Bible on separate sticky notes and then trying to stick them together in the correct order. Archon, Barbatos, The Seven, The Four Winds, The Abyss Order, The Fatui, Shnezneya, visions, elemental burst, elemental skill, elemental sight, Celestia, Vanessa, Teyvat- Like.. Hold on with the exposition for five minutes while I try to decipher the last massive revelation that I didn’t understand. Then right when you think you have the vocabulary down, they drop you into Liyue and they throw another freaking thousand terms/locations/factions/whatever and you just gotta ride through story mode like you understand what the heck is going on until you can pause and google what in the world “Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing” means. I love this game to death, but the info dump at the beginning of each country is super disorienting.

Vision in genshin impact is basically a power gifted by the archons. Like ambers keychain look alike is her vision the gem thingy in the middle of it has a pyro sign which means her vision is pyro (If i got it wrong i'm sorry ) (i can't play genshin since my laptop is shit and it can't open discord without lagging and my phone isn't compatible and i don't have an ipad ;-;)

Traveller can obtain two elements, Geo and Anemo, but only gainable from the Statue of the sevens, Anemo in Mondstadt, and Geo in Liyue ( Lmao don’t go to Liyue unsupervised- ). All of the playable characters (Excluding main character aka lumine or aether) carry a jewel looking item in any spot they’re comfortable with that gives them powers, the color and symbol shows you the element. The reason main character doesn’t have a vision is because they’re from another world. It’s said that visions are received out of thin air and is not fully confirmed how or who is in charge of picking who’s worthy. This basically sums it up

its those dangly keychain kinda thingies that the characters wear (eg on klee's backpack but all the characters wear it differently). its also the element they use for their magic powers (pyro, cryo, electro, hydro, anemo, geo, dendro). no one really knows where the characters get those powers from for sure but people think the archons/gods give the visions to the "chosen few" i guess.
