I had this camera a year ago and was quite impressed with the video quality at 1080p 60fps. However, as time went on, I noticed that part of the footage was out of focus, which just got progressively worse. I suspect this was due to poor quality control on the manufacturer's part, but I'll give it another chance.

Thank you Soooo much for explaining that other back cover! I was about to drill a hole in the case at the mic so it would pick up so audio while I am kayaking. With the waterproof back you get 0 audio. With the other one it is so much better and I bet it even removes some wind noise also. Thanks Again Dude!!!

I just got this camera for my sons B-Day. I wasn’t aware of the sound issues as I looked at videos of this camera b4 and I should have known to come to your page 1st. You make some great detailed vids and have a great & funny personality. You helped me pick out one of my body cams I wear to work. But the sound issue shouldn’t be a problem with him wearing it on helmet and ridding, I’m hoping he just doesn’t try to talk while riding and expect us to hear it on top of the wind…lol

Why did you turn your back to your light source, making your face dark, when asking about syncing issues? In general the audio from the EK700 seems a bit lacking. Nice real world presentation.

YES ITS GRAINY! I RECEIVED MINE 3 DAYS AGO. I tried the 4k, 2.7k and 1080p @60pfs. out of the 3, the 1080 gave me the best video but all of them All grainy. NO SOUND if inside the case. Out of the case you need to be super close speaking super loud.

I don't find it grainy if there is enough light. indoors it's very grainy, but that's pretty much all cheap action cams. Even the GoPro and the insta360 cams are grainy when the light gets low. Limitations of the small sensor. And you will always get no sound when inside a case. The case is designed to withstand being submerged in water so sound is also not going to be able to enter the case. But it does need to be close even without using the case to get some audio. Its one of the cheapest action cams out there. You get what you pay for.

@@gregtoope "you get what you pay for" That's very true. Though the video quality is acceptable. It's also true that many of those over 900 reviews are FAKE. Especially those that said "great" or "very good" audio.

@@erwin021777 That may be true for some reviews, but again you do have to compare it to the price. You can get these cameras for $50! SO for a $50 camera, the video quality outdoors is really good! I was quite surprised! SO yes Id say it's very good. You cant compare it with a GoPro, which costs 6-10 times the amount depending on which one you get. But I will agree that the audio isn't fantastic. But again its a $50 camera.

I'm after something that films and has good sounding quality but at the same time won't break my bank account 😅

I use a Zoom H1n for Audio anyway. Yes, I have to synch it up in post-production, but that's constant no matter what I use for video. I'd prefer one with more stabilization though; that's more important to me.

No image stabilization is a non starter for me because I use action cameras strictly on my motorcycles so stabilization is important to me. I have the Akaso Brave 6 plus and have the V50X on the way. I like the integral camera mount on the V50X, but don't need audio so it's lacking audio quality isn't an issue for me.

No real way to improve audio. just make sure you aren't too far away. no external mic, so it is what it is. But i do really like the colors that this camera produces.

Just got the action camera and I'm impressed how small it is and feels good holding it. I'm just needing the ad card. Thinking of going to Aviemore near the Cairngorms national park and hire mountain bike and testing this and see what it can do. Looking.forward to using this next summer when I go camping in Glencoe near Fort William and isle of skye. How many hours record time with the 32gb card? Glad you convinced me to get it!

Hi Greg really love your videos. Im trying to find a video camera to use for my e-bike it's pretty confusing and trying to find out witch camera has a good external mic set up and great to good stabilization for videos it's becoming very difficult to make my decision. I was wondering if you could help me or tell me witch one you would use. I have a stealth bomber e-bike and it is not you average e-bike it like a dirt bike that you can ride on the street or where ever because it has pedals It is very fast and has a ton of torque it does 75mph and being electric is gets from 0 to 60 in a few seconds it's very awesome. But I want to start moto vlogging and video record my rides I would want a camera with an external mic to have good sound because Im sure the wind noise from the internal mic would cause to much wind buffering. I was thinking of the brand Akaso or something not to over the top in price but still something that would do the job. If you could give me any suggestions or input as to something you would choose I would greatly appreciate it so much with you expert advice. Thanks for your time and for the videos you make. Is the EIS Electronic Image Stabilization and external mic capability the same as mentioned about the Pro series? Did they add the pro features but kept the same model name as before? Odd they wouldn't have changed the model designation to differentiate the model update.

Thank you for mentioning the audio sync issues. I'm having problems with video syncing up with 30 fps low resolution cameras when trying to play instruments right now. More specifically, something just doesn't look right when I play the piano on a video. I was hoping 60 fps would help with that but if this camera has problems with syncing to begin with, it might not be worth the trouble. I actually use separate audio equipment and use PowerDirector 14 to sync the externally recorded audio with the poor audio in the camcorders/webcams, etc...

I find that most times that I have this issue is when I’m using cards that just aren’t fast enough. First try a faster card.

Does the slow and fast motion was edited after you record it? Or the camera itself have slow motion?

The camera shoots 1080p/60. So when it’s in a 30 or 24 FPS timeline it plays in slow mo. Which was how that was recorded.

really you would have to go to an actual GoPro or Insta360 cam. From my testing most lower priced cameras dont have great internal mics.

It is also possible that a super cheap camera might not be the greatest. It is an action camera, right? That means it is for action, not walking slowly and being paranoid not to shake. What is it used for? Akaso is notorious for terrible audio. This camera looks like a perfect toy for kids to learn how to take video. Useless for action, don't you think? Useful for photos, though.
