We finally get around to taking the Akaso V50 Elite outdoors for some testing. Let us know what you think of the Akaso V50 Elite. Is it worth the extra money over the Akaso V50 Pro? 2 Things to look at. You will see a weird EIS problem when shooting in the medium zoom angle. I'm sure that this can be fixed with a firmware update, but as of now definitely an issue. 2nd is that I really don't see much if any difference between the 3 actual zoom angles (wide, medium and narrow). Do you?

I have had one and using it to record my band for a couple of years. The footage has always been as good as I needed and the sound recording has been excellent. It's taken a beating so I bought a new one. The new one is very disappointing - they've updated it and it can no longer tolerate high spls (loud music). What a pity.

Video seems it little jittery. Maybe the conversion to KZbin. Also saw zero change between normal narrow and wide shot.

Hello Crusin, I have the V50 Elite and after contacting AKASO for info on an external mic they told me they don't have any, do you know of any mic that fits the Elite? And honestly, if I had to buy again, I would go for the V50 Pro ( internal mic is better, it has it's own external mic and green on video is not too darn green )

EMMOzone Rider as far as I know the Elite does not work with external mics. Only the V50 Pro.

I think that was a fair review. The Elite version seems like a rip off as there was no image difference between wide, mid and narrow in your footage and, if the screen is less responsive than the Pro, unless you're desperate for 1080p, it wouldn't be worth the money! Thanks again.

In terms of video quality, what should do best. Sony Alpha 5000 or this one? Mainly for daytime recording, where I just climb on a rock not higher than 5 meters. Exposure to sunlight would be important too. It's hard to compare both....

don't have a Sony alpha, so cant compare. but they are 2 totally different styles of camera so really cant or shouldn't compare these 2. One is a Mirrorless camera with lots of creative adjustments versus an action cam.

It would be used only for taking bouldering videos from a close distance (max 10 meters), just me climbing a max 5 meter high rock like in all my videos. I have decided to take a GoPro hero 8, because the stabilizer is pretty nice quality it seems, and so is the video quality. :) :)

I've had this camera for over a year now and I just cant get sharp crisp video from it. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. Even have a high speed sd card too. Used in broad day light and 4k looks like ~720p or 480p. Just not that great. I don't think they make a non waterproof case for it either to help possibly help with the audio.

So, for touch screen, when its cold LCD crystals are cold, and they are liquid, so they cant change pictrue, thats why you feel like ist lagging. but its just the screen slowing down.

I havnt had the opportunity to use the SJ8 so Im not sure what that cam is like. But I actually like the V50 Pro even better than the V50 Elite as the high frame rate isnt that important to me, but the external mic was. But so far Im really happy with the Akaso cameras.

Sending warm vibes from...Pennsylvania! It’s a balmy 30 degrees F here right now. AKASO’s support team is lacking a bit. Not holding my breath for mic support. It’s a bummer. The Elite does a decent job in good lighting.

Team 512 well it’s 6 degrees Fahrenheit right now but supposed to get a little warmer tomorrow. And yes AKASO support isn’t the fastest but they are at least there. And none of the action cameras do well in low light. Especially at this price.

@@trentmiller7532 I do. As long as its the Pro SE. The SE has 4K 60P just like the elite. Plus has external mic support (using the akaso mic) which the elite doesn't have.

Cruisn Canada Sorry to bother again. But the only one that has the external mic (that I can see) is the COOAU. It also does match your description with the FPS @ 60 etc.... Is that the one? Because i’m not finding the “external mic” on any of the Akaso’s.

I have a EK7000 pro and the V50 Elite, the 7kPro isnt as good, but isnt too bad either, really. Image stabilization isnt up to par on the 7KPro, and even on the Elite.. it's not great IMO. I end up sticking with my SJ6 Legend
