Well done both of you. You have both worked really hard to get where you are now. All the best for the future. 🥰

Congrats!! Great job! I was wondering why you decided to keep going to elite. Everyone seems to have a different reason or different way of doing it. We are just starting (still in A groups) and I am not sure if I’m going to continue with elite or not. You are right it sure is the expensive way! 😉

I wanted more trial experience before moving up to higher levels. I found it very useful for learning and gaining more confidence 😊

Nice job. Have you ever thought about teaching her to search more independently and without pressure? I bet she would really enjoy that.

I don't pressure her, she's a nervous dog and in the trial environment it's only heightened. She needs the encouragement and I've had multiple judges and trainers advise that. At home she'll search completely independently because she's comfortable at home.

I know it’s the AKC style to constantly tell them to search and do the hand presenting thing, but it is pressure. It’s like if you were reading and nervous and someone sat next to you and said “read” every two seconds and pointed to the page. Have you taken lessons with an NACSW coach? Even online? Or done any work on trial nerves or confidence? Check out Stacy Barnett. I love how excited you are about the sport and your dedication. And it’s clear you love your dogs and enjoy working with and training them. I hope you do nosework with your Lab and in the NACSW style. He will excel and you will learn a ton.
