I had a lot of fun hanging out at the warehouse! What do you think of these horns!?! Any particular model you're looking forward to playing? Do you own a Besson Euph? If so which one??

AKCEuph Thanks for making this video. I am a tuba and euphonium player, but I've been playing and focusing on tuba recently, and am now looking to switch my focus to euphonium for college playing. That being said I was recommended to purchase a Besson horn, and this video has provided me with a bit more knowledge about a few of them.

Hello. Excellent dissertation. I am looking for an older Besson 60 - 70's brackett, your views please.

@AKCEuph have you had the chance to test out the BE767 euphonium? I’d be very curious to know how this four valve, compensating horn compared to the Sovereign and the Prestige!

I actually haven't gotten my hands on a 767 yet, but I have reached out to Besson about trying to get me one to make a video on soon!

I actually liked the sound of the Sovereign better than the Prestige's, I would describe it as a bit... lighter? livelier? I have a B&H Sovereign from 1979 I might replace in the far future because of some quirks of the instrument which are just... very annoying to fight (mostly intonation wise, and the metal valve guides wearing out), so hearing the difference between a Prestige and a (modern) Sovereign in the same video partially helped me to hear the difference between the two, and decide which I like best, if I ever actually get enough money together to buy one.

I play a Besson 4 valve compensating euphonium made in 1972. It uses a medium shank mouthpiece. I use the SM4UM mouthpiece. The valves need replated at some point. In a perfect world where money is no object (not anytime soon I'm afraid), I would refurbish my euphonium and buy new euphonium such as a Besson 967. In the meantime, its make due what I have, keep up doing some solo playing (mainly at churches) and introducing people what the euphonium and what it can do.

Paul Routledge I bet you sound great on it! Those old English made Bessons are a treasure if you can find them.

I first wanted to say I’m happy to see you uploading these quality videos again, I actually missed you😁 I’m a senior in high school and I play on a BE 967 using an Alliance DC3 mouthpiece, it’s a school owned instrument so it’s not the nicest but it sure is a nice horn

Libertarian Capitalist thanks! I’m glad to be back. I’m sure you sound great! I hear a lot of good things about that alliance mouthpiece as well!

On the 2052, What is the 5th valve, is it an Eb valve?
@jasoncostello15355 жыл бұрын
Donald Webster it’s a tuning trigger for the main tuning slide. When pushed down it extends the main tuning slide to get notes naturally sharp more in tune (Eb and F above the staff)

You should make a video about how you clean your instrument step by step( while actually cleaning it )
@AKCEuph6 жыл бұрын
Manspider Ball I do have a video of me going through how I clean my horn in pretty good detail. I did leave out the actual cleaning part because it would be a long and boring process 😂

The BE 162 feels to bright for me the Adams E3 is good for me
@falmais5 жыл бұрын
Isidro Torres I’m sure the E3 is a great horn, but I’m not sure I can compare the Besson 162 (a student three valve Euphonium that costs around $2500) and the Adams E3 (a fully compensating Euphonium that costs around $8000). Maybe the Sovereign (967) or the prestige (2051/2052) would be closer models to compare between the two brands.

How do you feel about the e3?
