I just started up Photo Dojo on my 3DS for the first time in forever to take a look back at the incredible roster I created. Every single character slot is me making a menacing grimace from different angles with vaguely threatening names such as "OOZE-KILLER" and "PIANO" except for the last character slot, which is a crudely drawn image of Wario.

Man, where do I begin with this game. I initially got it on my DSi when it was actually still free, and from Day 1 I loved the game and it stole my heart. I remember making stages based on the playroom that my siblings and I had in our house, using backgrounds like a couch, a table, the TV screen, and some toy structures. I stopped playing after a while because the friends I used to play it with either moved away or moved on, but when Cloud was announced for Smash 4 in my freshman year of high school I took a crack at it again and made Cloud in Photo Dojo so my friends and I could mess around with how silly it all was. I'm now about to graduate high school, but it really only felt like a few years ago that Nintendo gave us this obscure gem. Photo Dojo's got a special place in my heart, and I'll never forget all the times I created some truly cursed fighters and stages. God bless

I didn’t really understand the free promotion for Photo Dojo so I begged my parents to get me a DSiXL for my birthday, expecting to get it bundled in or something. I've constantly though of how they could've gone and made a better version of this game, like allowing more editing options such as just taking a picture and erasing unnecessary detail so all you have is what you want to see, which could allow for unique attacks and poses. Still was fun for a simple little game though.
