What I don't understand is that it took the guy that made the TROLL FACE to file a copyright takedown notice instead of...y'know *ACTIVISION* for using a sniper rifle model and animation from one of their CoD games.
@TheMGMfan9 ай бұрын
Funny you say that, because there was an update (I believe the same one that introduced the bigley mode mentioned in the video) that changed it from the original model to a shitty drawing of it. I don’t think Activision ever threatened legal action, but it seems to me like Meme Run's creator realized only after releasing it that they could and changed it as a precaution.

Bigley is one of the most well-known Miiverse Deities that parodies the Ridley controversy, and even became a 'big' idol for the Super Smash BrothersCommunity. Bigley is very popular with the Smashers, and has made countless appearances on drawings and posts. Bigley originated in a handwritten post made by a user named Side on January 19th, 2014. Bigley is currently three years old. The actual post in question is this. Like the Shrek meme, unfortunately, the Bigley meme is now less frequently mentioned due to the closure of the Smash series community. The meme has returned on multiple occasions and is almost impossible for users to forget about. Bigley started to become a common meme again somewhere around July 2015 in the Wii Fit U Community, and after the Smashers and memers moved to the New Super Luigi U Community, Bigley became a semi-popular meme for a long time.

Why did I laugh at that last joke so hard Also I can't believe I liked a lot a video with that many dank memes, as they got old quite early... Keep going man c:
@xmm-cf5eg7 жыл бұрын
I personally loved the montage parodies of yester-year, they were creative and funny *when in the right hands,* and the whole "Fuk montage parodies, our new equally cancer memes are soooooo much more high-brow" shit that most people subscribe to now is kind of pathetic. It's equally "cancer" but people still seem to think there's a difference between old memes and these dumbass ones that change every two weeks like they do now. I'd rather watch an old MLG parody from 2013 than some "The bee movie but every time someone pauses during speech 30 hours of holocaust footage plays" video, or waste 40 hours of my life on the new "hottest meme" this month, only for people to instantly hate it two days later because its "too old". I think the real issue with montage parodies is how ADD obsessive most of the internet has gotten, where as a joke could be funny for a decade years back, things are instantly shunned if they're more than two weeks old. Now we're throwing internet humor quality out in favor of quantity. That, and the only reason montage parodies stopped was KZbin letting corporations issue cease and desist claims on the people making them. I'm sure somebody will right this comment of as autism at it's finest, but what's wrong with a troll face now and again? /rant
@000marioshi0007 жыл бұрын
Ohhh, sorry man :/ I actually dislike montage parodies for the exact opposite you described in your small rant. Not because they are too old, but on the contrary because they are too new. I can seem like an angry grandpa muttering "grumble grumble things were better back in my day grumble grumble" but I can explain in a rant of my own. Watch out though, quality is subjective and I'm certainly not trying to brand myself as a meme expert: I just wanted to give my two cents about the meme situation right now and why I specifically dislike montage parodies. I arrived on the Internet back in 2007/2008, when the "classical YTP era" with sources like the classical Mario (Mama Luigi) and Sonic (Robotnik in AoSTH) cartoons was in full force. I've thus seen my fair share of memes in my Internet life, and for some of them, I've followed them very closely, being an idiot bigger back then than I am today. I personally don't hate memes because they're old; in fact, some of the older memes I've seen back in the day still check out today and still stay some of my favorites: think about Leeroy Jenkins, AYBABTU or some of the YTP trends back then. I don't like rage comics as much, but hey, that's a question of taste. It was also thanks to memes that I would discover some subcultures I wasn't aware of; I would have never discovered Starcraft without "YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS", or even TF2, a game I spent 3K hours in, without GMod videos and all the memes they brought with them. Memes were used as sharing tools, as things to have a good time with and to feel like you were a part of a community, and they still are today for some of them - including montage parodies, I think? But that's besides the point. I also enjoyed a lot to watch and make fads before KZbin disabled video responses, those being very brief memes never lasting more than a few months. I actually recently discovered that one of my favorites, The Crack/Fuck/X Empire, has recently been killed off by a copyright attack on "Eric Prydz - Call On Me". It's a shame, a part of the Internet disappearing like that... Were all the memes back then great? Certainly not, there were memes that I didn't liked and others that didn't picked up. I don't even remember them today, which is bad for my example, I know x) But there was a great difference between the era I'm describing and the era montage parodies are in. The reason why I dislike montage parodies, in fact, was that for me they were among the very first memes to verify the trend on this image. h t t p : / / i0 . kym-cdn . com /photos/images/original/001/117/503/9f6.png They were among the first to enter the "ironical" era of memes, which was followed by an even worse era that I would call "post-ironical", or even, dare I say it, "political". Montage parodies were memes that just felt... artificial. They consisted of an amalgamation of references older than themselves, trying to "parody" a certain kind of people, which I agree could be seen as obnoxious, but by being deliberately worse than them. Sure, they brought some memes of their own inside of them (think of the Wow guy, or the CoD hitmarker): but now, when some people see Smoke Weed Everyday or Wombo Combo, they only think of montage parodies, when those memes are way older than them and have a story of their own. Montage parodies were trying wayyyyy too hard to be ironic and falsely funny. The fact that they were all so similar didn't bothered me that much, because that's the point of a meme; but they felt aggressive and tryhardey to me. And montage parodies were not a shooting star: their ironical part actually stayed. Think about the Lenny face, the Allahu Akbar scream or even more recent memes like Hey Beter. These memes don't feel like they have a soul to me, and for some of them, they elicit more negative emotions than positive ones. It was also at this era that words like "cancer", "cringe" and "autistic" took over, words that I absolutely despise, not because they give a valid criticism to someone that desperately needs it, but because they do so while dehumanizing people. Newer memes are trying way too hard to be edgy, ironic and holier-than-thou in terms of judging their peers. And on the upper part of the Internet iceberg, on Facebook and co, memes have the exact opposite problem: the Minions gifs and advice animals feel overused, soulless and lacking a certain type of charm. Thus memes today are just like politics: they represent two unbearable extremes, either because they are too inoffensive or too offensive. A meme like Nyan Cat back in the day didn't felt like either of those, and I can't really put my finger on why. Was it because it felt like it had a soul? Was it because it was feeling natural in the way it emerged? Was it because it was all around good fun? Was it because you could discover new things as it spread? Was it because it was feeling like something different from the Internet life you were experiencing up until it arrived? Was it because it was properly updating an older unknown meme (the song Nyanyanyanyanyanya, which I think was known in YTPMVs before Nyan Cat emerged)? Was it because you could surprise your friends Rickroll style and they could gently berate you by saying "Awwww, come on, not Nyan Cat again, it's so annoying! But at the same time... I kinda like it c: " Would I like a similar-looking-to-montage-parodies type of videos? Actually, I already do: as I'm a TF2 fan, the current "Super Pro Mercenary" series by Doctor Lalve can make me laugh like a maniac. But that's the thing: it's not mocking anyone, it's not trying to be ironical, it's just making fun of oneself and having others not laugh at you or anyone, but with you. Do I also dislike all of the newer memes? Certainly not. Just to quote 2017 memes, I actually think some of the entries in Expanding Brain or Alignment Chart were funny. I also have an unstable opinion on a meme like Doge: I personally don't appreciate Doge as much as the next guy, but I can see there's something similar to older memes in it, and while it's not directly targeting anyone, it was not feeling soulless when it started. I guess it's just a question of opinions, and I still like some videos putting Doge at the center. Or maybe it's because of it being overused? I mean, for knowing SiIvaGunner well, memes like Grand Dad and WANO can be now seen as punching bags and I'm not appreciating if they are way too overused and much everywhere: but once every now and again, seeing a Grand Dad in a remix is fine to me. I guess that's my personal problem: I'm still longing for an era where memes were innocent without being soulless, all-around good fun and welcoming. But this was the Internet in its childhood, and I'm not sure that I like the current adulthood of the Internet and of memes, where they can be used as actual weapons. tl;dr : promote vrum and bring op back kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYjZhXqOobN4d9k

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Meme Run. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of memetic physics most of the jokes will go over a typical normie’s head. There’s also Jordan’s nihilistic outlook, which is dankly woven into his games- his targeted demographic draws heavily from Whynne's memes, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about THE INTERNET. As a consequence people who dislike Meme Run truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Trollface’s existential catchphrase "U MAD BRO?” which itself is a cryptic reference to Chris-Chan’s autistic comic Sonichu. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Jordan Schuetz’s genius wit unfolds itself on their Wii U screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Me Gusta tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 420 IQ points of my own (preferably danker) beforehand. lumenarty confermd kid 😎

Jordan's posts on Miiverse were just painful. He tried using everyone's love for memes and his silly posts that people enjoyed to cover up how bad the game really was. Those places where you just fall through the ground are called "Troll Tiles" by Jordan, but they're obviously just bad collision detection. On another note, Heil Bigley.

Actually this was one of the first games I bought on my Wii U. I felt I got my moneys worth and was pretty dedicated to getting the highest score on meme run. I'm not sure if I literally got the highest score but I like to think (maybe that's not a good thing actually) I got pretty close. Admittedly I don't know what I was thinking but I thought it was funny at the time. I probably wouldn't be the person I am today, had I not played it, so there's that.

Ah yes, the days of Meme Run and Miiverse. I always wanted a copy, ironically of course. Alas, I never got the chance to buy it before it's sudden removal. As for the latter, it's a darn shame that it will be remembered as a place of cancerous fanbases and cringe. But for those of us who found ourselves in the Smash, Wii Fit U, Wii Sports Club, and New Super Luigi U Communities, we ended building up a genuine sense of community there. It's too bad that this feeling of togetherness will likely never be recreated by any social media again.

This game is proof Wii U is better than Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The Wii U was looked upon as disgraceful by SoNormies and the Xboner COD kids. Truly, the peak of human intelligence. Yes, right above Rick and Morty.

People love a good meme. Wheather if it's a game, video, or shitpost on Reddit. As long as you don't have to pay 5 dolans for it. not even 3 dolans. Not even 1 big one(s). But 0. Nada. I am not gonna waste my time on something I will enjoy for 5 seconds then leave.
