Muhammad Hijab just accused himself of kufr by his own definition. He interpreted a mutashabih (ambiguous) verse. The word _degree_ in the verse _{Men have a degree}_ over women is ambiguous. But he offered an interpretative translation it: a degree "of authority". The verse doesn't say this. It just says _degree_ and leaves it ambiguous. He's once again displayed nothing but arrogance, ill-manners and lack of patience in communication. His nafs (ego), from what I can detect, is simply too big to be a public spokesperson for the faith. No humility. An embarrassment for Muslims.

6:40 Every time people quote 3:7 it disturbs me, after i heard the interpretation of it referring to the Qiraat, which then explains the "similar" verses, people translate it as ambiguous, what a great mistake. I believe, God knows best. But this interpretation is the only one which explains it all in a cohesive manner, that's why i take it. The verses who are the mother of the book have no qiraat difference, they are secured, and the ones which have qiraat differences are similar, to each other, Maliki, Maaliki, but are not exactly the same. And people use this to create fitnah, seeking it's interpretation "Is it Malik or Maalik?" But none know its true interpretation, except God. And those firm in knowledge, they say "We believe in it, it's all from our Lord" And it makes sense. I had the tendency to deny the multiplicity of the Qur'an, but then it is true that if you check it, it makes sense. To mean, i haven't found a false Qiraat yet... God is both King and Owner of Judgement Day, both are true. And the same with many other cases. But even then, the mother of the book verses are secured, so even if those failed, the dhikr is preserved. That's the beauty of the Qur'an, it predicted what people would try to debase it... and set systems on place to make it inexpugnable...

'And people use this to create fitnah, seeking it's interpretation "Is it Malik or Maalik?"' That's interesting. I came across a video just the other day of Hijab trying to debunk a quran only guy and as a way to 'debunk' him Hijab raised this question. I don't know where he went with it because the arrogance and intimidation he was emitting towards the guy had me furious I had to stop it.

The problem is no the takfiring but Rather it is that they are su bullish, violent and intolerant. We Quranists also do takfir but nobody has ever accused us of being bullies or opressors. The problem With neo-salafis but also with salafized sunnies is that their sources call upon violonce and oppression against those who do not follow the dogma of the sunnah and that is why their takfiring becomes dangerous.

Please keep making them. We need more kind Muslims like you. Would you consider doing a video on Quran 2:230 and how it leads to Halala marriage. This is a verse I struggle with. Seems a bit family wrecking to me. Thank you.
@DrJavadTHashmi
@DrJavadTHashmi 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind comment. As for Q. 2:230, I agree that the juristic tradition created a mess of it by taking an extremely legalistic approach. Instead, I think we should simply look at the contextual meaning and purpose of the verse, which was to curtail the practice that was prevalent at the time: men at that time would continually divorce their wives and then remarry them in order to exert power over them and take away their rights. So, this verse was pronounced to stop this practice. It had nothing to do with the practice of "ḥalālah." For the record, even the vast majority of traditionalist jurists forbid the practice, although one can consider it an unfortunate byproduct of their way of their thinking, especially in the context of their ruling on triple divorce. As for your interest in Islam, might I suggest that you consider that you might already be a "muslim" in the general and original meaning of the term, which included Christians? Please check out the debate I had with Shadee Elmasry on this topic. It is viewable under the Live tab of my KZbin channel. Have a great day, and Merry Christmas!

Tbh i don't see an issue with patriarchy. I do believe the idea of the head of the family being the man is fine. This never justified abuse, just be normal, a good believer... I don't see the issue... Do what you can... to be good. Your wife isn't your slave, i mean this is common sense. The degree being the financial superiority makes sense yeah. God knows best. Feminism is indeed toxic, just as the redpill. The Qur'an has the perfect balance i believe. Men and women are different. They are equal on some regards, not on others. Sometimes the man has more priviledges, others the woman, and the opposite with responsabilities... Balanced system It's equity, not equality. Equality is in a way Satanic, because God is the supreme authority, he is not equal to us, the hierarchy is inherent to existence, you can't dissolve it all, but Satan wants to dissolve it so we deem ourselves equal to God when we are not... But a bit of it may be justified of course, it depends on the situation. Peace

LOL! YOU call yourself a Muslim!! Okay.. Let me ask you this, which sect do you belong to? OH You will say, I am just muslim... i hate to break it to you that there is Shia Islam, Sunni islam and others. You most likely think of Islam as the one interpretted by SUnni school of thought. But let me tell you a historical fact the word Shia comes from Shian-e-ALi (Friends of Ali) historically. Who is ALi? The family of Muhammad... and about whom in Quran there is command from the AL MIGHTY that "Love Ahl e Bait (family of Prophet)" [Chapter 42: Verse 23] Historically speaking, the one who stood with the family of the Prophet, the ones who abide by Quran were perscuted at the hands of later converts like Umayyad, and Abbasids. And those who suffered for their faith are now called Shia and those who persecuted others in the name of religion for political gains are now called Sunnis. And that is the reaosn why Islam (sunni Islam) is the most wide spread and Non Muslims think of it as mysogynistic and misguided.

Muslim women are required to cover themselves in order to protect themselves. O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way it is more likely that they will be recognized as virtuous and not be harassed. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments except what normally appears. Let them draw their veils over their chests, and not reveal their hidden adornments except to their husbands, their fathers, their fathers-in-law, their sons, their stepsons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, their fellow women, those bondwomen in their possession, male attendants with no desire, or children who are still unaware of women’s nakedness. Let them not stomp their feet, drawing attention to their hidden adornments. Turn to Allah in repentance all together, O believers, so that you may be successful. [Surah An-Noor 24:31] Surah An-Noor [24:60] The verse below was also revealed that the outer garment (e.g. a cloak) has been made optional for older Muslim women whose menstrual cycle has ended and hence have passed their age for marriage and childbearing. Although the first part of the ayah states that older women are not required to wear the hijab (in this ayah, outer garment implies the hijab), the second part of the ayah further explains that it is better for them to continue wearing the Hijab even at an old age because Allah knows what we do not. When Allah Moved the Earth to Forgive His Servant POPULAR When Allah Moved the Earth to Forgive His Servant As for elderly women past the age of marriage, there is no blame on them if they take off their ˹outer˺ garments, without revealing their adornments. But it is better for them if they avoid this ˹altogether˺. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. [An-Noor 24:60] Hadith About Hijab In order to gain a complete understanding of the above Quranic verses, it is important to seek the Prophet’s (PBUH) explanation synonymously, as Allah has revealed in Surah An-Naml [16:44]. A number of narrations are available with regard to the Hijab: Hadith On Hijab Narrated Safiya bint Shaiba: Aisha used to say: “When (the verse): “They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms…,” was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their heads and faces with those cut pieces of cloth.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari] The Hadith above shows that the believing women of the time understood the verse as stated above (Surah An-Noor 24:31) and were quick to follow. It shows beyond doubt that it was not a cultural practice, otherwise they would not have had to cut pieces of cloth to cover their bodies as prescribed. This Hadith specifically mentions that they veiled their heads as well as their faces - referring to the Hijab. Although women are not required to follow this dress code when they are at home in the absence of adult men who are not related to them (or their husbands), women are also required to follow this dress code when performing their prayers as stated in the following Hadith. Ayesha (RA) narrated that: Allah’s Messenger said: “The Salat of a women who has reached the age of menstruation is not accepted without a Khimar” [Jami’ at-Tirmidhi 377] Hadith On Hijab And Modesty Of Clothing Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) used to offer the Fajr prayer and some believing women, covered with their veiling sheets, used to attend the Fajr prayer with him and then they would return to their homes unrecognized. [Sahih Al-Bukhari] Narrated Aisha: Umar bin Al-Khattab used to say to Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) “Let your wives be veiled” But he did not do so. The wives of the Prophet (PBUH) used to go out to answer the call of nature at night only at Al-Manasi. Once Sauda, the daughter of Zama (a wife of the Messenger of Allah PBUH), went out and she was a tall woman. Umar bin Al-Khattab saw her while he was in a gathering, and said, “I have recognized you, O Sauda!” He (Umar) said so as he was anxious for some Divine orders regarding the veil (the veiling of women.) So Allah revealed the verse of veiling. [Sahih Al-Bukhari] These Sahih AHadeeth point to the practice of the early Muslim women dressing modestly so as to not reveal their figure. They maintained modesty in their clothing to such a degree that those around could not recognize who they were.

I have mixed feelings about Mohammad hijab. For instance the video your commenting on, I think Hijab makes a powerful case about some flaws in feminist conclusions. THe problem is, as you have pointed out Javed, that he is declaring takfir and mocking a woman.

Not that she was laughing at the Qur'an, I'd wager. So if you laugh at the Qur'an, you're a kafir. But it is God who causes us to laugh, he said so in the Qur'an. Was Sarah, the wife of Abraham, a kafir when she laughed at God's divine speech? What a stupid idea. That kind of closed mindedness could only come from someone who has such a narrow, suffocating view of the creator.

That theory makes sense, of course Dav Gibson is not a muslim and he kinda throws at the Qur'an assuming it was changed, i obviously don't believe that, and neither has he any concrete evidence for that claim, the verse about the change in direction can be easily interpreted to mean the change in direction the Prophet had, which any revert also had. The word Qibla just means direction, in some context that implies destination, and in others your goals and focus. It has nothing to do with prayer, necessarily... The Qur'an also mentions many things about the city the Prophet warned, none of which apply to today's "Mecca" but do apply to Petra. Also noteworthy, Petra was "casually" having an earthqacke shortly after the people rejected the messenger, as the Qur'an does mention the original people he preached to were bound to disbelief... only in the later place the people believed in mass... And sunnatallah does not change, if people reject the messenger, they get destroyed, buildings included... And that's what happened, Petra being the mother of cities the Prophet warned is actually a proof of Islam, the Qur'an being revelation... It is a proof, of course, it does kinda debunk the Sectarians claims, and all their stuff they are doing kissing idols or bowing down to a cube, which is nowhere in the Qur'an... And idk, it sounds crazy, but at the same time it is kinda sad. The true Masjid al Haram is meant to show us the stance of Abraham... and when i saw Petra, man that place has something to it... It's a shame people don't go there to see the signs... Altough i do believe 9:28 forbids us, but the reason is that the place was full of associators who were unclean... since they were destroyed, perhaps we can visit it now... God knows best. O you who heed warning: those who ascribe a partnership are unclean; so approach not the inviolable place of worship after this their year. And if you fear poverty, then will God enrich you out of His bounty, if He wills; God is knowing and wise. (9:28) This is from brother Sam's Gerrans, i know it's controversial. But if be the truth, Alhamdulillah, i'm happy either way as long as i understand the Qur'an.

Nashuz doesnt just mean infidelity, it means rising in a woman. That same ayah is how I feel the prophet got the idea that males and females children should be seperated from sleeping together after a certain age. Because sexuality arises in the child as it becomes adolescent. Also in societies where a woman rises, above mens height, we have examples such as the pole dancer, the japanese female idol, the animal kingdom where the female is larger and the males smaller, the wodaabe tribe where the males wear makeup and the females choose multiple males. These are not societies for cities.

Great video Dr. Hashmi! Also, I was wondering if you were familiar with Ghulam Ahmed Perwez, his ideas and books are sadly rather unknown among Muslims and non-Muslims alike. The immense scope of his writings and insights are groundbreaking and created a new field of Muslim thought. Parwez's view of God is seeing Him/It as the Absolute, Absolute in everything from Power to Goodness, that created and uses the universe as Its self-expression, and put life into the universe as part of Its creativity and love. It guides the development of the universe towards complexity, and does the same to mankind's consciousness by guiding it through Revelation. As the Qur'an sees itself as the last revelation, it means Mankind is finally mature enough to stand on their own feet. Parwez views the universe as one giant process of evolution, following the Will of God. And this process is beautiful, and although a powerful process, it's purpose is not to be a show of power but of mercy (which is why God calls Himself ar-Rahman and ar-Raheem, the provider of Rahma, mercy and providence). Thus Parwez views God not as a dictator, unreachable and impersonal. God can be approached, but He works through the laws of the universe, and thus we approach God by following the laws in the evolution of the universe and ourselves. We understand God through the universe which expresses His Will. "If Iqbal has had any successor on the intellectual plane, it is undoubtedly Allama Ghulam Ahmad Parwez. What the great poet-philosopher had to say pithily and almost aphoristically, Parwez has expatiated upon, writing as eloquently as Abu-ul-Kalam Azad and documenting it as authentically as Maulana Suleman Nadvi. That is, however, true only so far as the style goes. Analytically he has no compeer amongst the modern writers on Islam. One is simply staggered with the inexhaustibility of his erudition which spans all the gamut of human knowledge; philosophy, science, anthropology, history, philology, economics and other fields of research. Allama Parwez is surely one of the most learned men of our times. But he is not a mere walking encyclopaedia. All this equipment of his is there in an ordered, systematic form; streamlined, so to say according to a highly sophisticated point of view which is derived from the Holy Quran. Allama Ghulam Ahmad Parwez is the Hazrat Shah Waliullah of our age." - An excerpt of a review for his book Kitab-ul-Taqdeer (or the Book of Destiny).
