For all those commenting that this to fast lets remember of Feldman's 3 favorite pianist (David Tudor, Roger Woodward & Aki Takahashi) Ms.Takahashi was his favorite. Don't be so ready to put your idea of how it should be on something that has happened and can no longer be changed. This is beyond. Time disappears in it. The sound and silence hold all the meaning. Doesn't mean you have to like it though. I've seen her a couple of times solo. It is the rare musician who can do what she does.

Playing it this fast takes some of the dreamy, romantic quality out of the piece and brings it more in alignment with the spare, mechanistic qualities of baroque music. This is neither better or worse, it simply allows us to hear certain structural aspects of the music more vividly.

This album is hands down the best recording oa Feldman and of Triafdic Memories for me. It is also no longer available save for a single used copy on Amazon for 100 dollars (a re-release or possibly a bootleg copy). I foolishly left mine before a move.

This piece, and Piano and string quartet are my favorite from Feldman.😔. Too fast ? Maybe, the disc I purchased is about 20 minutes longer, but this is still really good IMO.
