the first song in the film was the title track of the album “artpop”. it was the post chorus and the chorus chopped up, it’s definitely worth a full reaction. the second song was “venus” which was the first minute of that song. the song in the credits is “MANiCURE” is also one of my favorite songs on artpop and would recommended that one highly

Billie Eilish just said she's listening to this song a lot recently. A real timeless song. The video is about gaga getting disappointed by the greedy men robbed her at the beginning, so she resurrected three good men, Michael Jackson, Gandhi and Jesus, and copied their genes to create new men, and at the end she killed the bad men and replaced them with the new men

100 million now isn’t underrated now, that usually means a song has a billion streams but back then that wasn’t really anything a lot of artists made that number since KZbin was bigger and yes Artpop the album was underrated

basically the plot is she was betrayed by men and she was rebirth. she also resurrected 3 men: gandhi, michael jackson, and jesus and she used their blood to clone “ideal men” to replace her betrayers

You were right on with those guys in the beginning shooting down Gaga for the money and then she goes through rebirth and pulls what she perceives as the best traits of men from Ghandi, Michael Jackson, and Jesus Christ which she then used to make a new G.U.Y. She rolls up with her team, blasts the money for the industry and then they go and take out the pig men in the industry and replaces them with her better GUYs. Great take and I’m glad you loved that. I love Artpop

The ARTPOP album and whole era was received pretty badly at the time and was a total mess. From Gaga being pitted against Katy Perry with the very first single and losing, multiple singles getting changed over and over and then being dropped entirely, music videos being made and then scrapped, Gaga being panned as a failure because ARTPOP didn’t do the numbers her previous albums did, her manager then leaving her, having a song with R Kelly that eventually got removed from streaming, an app that was never finished, multiple teased projects that never happened, the fans turning against her quite aggressively… her label pulled any further promo and said nah this era is done we’re calling it quits, start writing the next album. Gaga fought tooth and nail to keep it alive. Applause ended up being the only real single. Gaga directed this music video herself and paid for it out of her own pocket, including making a donation of $250,000 to be allowed to film at Hearst Castle. ARTPOP was such a passion project and she received SO much hate. The album wasn’t really received well outside the fanbase until recent years hence the ‘underrated’ and ‘ahead of its time’ comments. Man I love ARTPOP. I was in the trenches with her the whole way 🤣

KZbin today is not KZbin 10 years ago when this was released. This MV should have at least +500M to be considered good or 1B to be considered a hit, so 100M is actually bad ... tbh the problem was the length of the video, long form MVs are not popular (hence Marry The Night still not over 100M)

This video should have been the first single off of ARTPOP. Too bad she was going thru so much negative stuff during this period. ARTPOP is one of her best albums.
