Hello everyone, and welcome to the big Akira review! Today I take a look at one of the most influential sci-fi manga of the 1980's. With its gorgeous visuals, smart and decisive storytelling, and compelling characters, this might be one of the best manga that I read this year, and it's only March! Capsules versus Clowns. If I recall correct those are the two motorcycle gangs in Akira. This is my second favorite manga, next to Buddha by Osamu Tezuka. Akira was dedicated to Osamu Tezuka. Both authors, Otomo and Tezuka cover similar themes and moods in their work. Otomo played a role in creating the movie Metropolis, which was adapted from a Tezuka manga, that was inspired by the 1927 film of the same name. If you like Akira, check out Domu by Otomo if you haven’t already. Also check out the anime films “Memories” and “Metropolis”. Good review! 👍

Oooh gotcha! So they were called the Capsules! I just couldn't find/remember seeing them name their gang, even though the wikis all have names for them. And oooooh I've always heard that Buddha is really good! Definitely need to check it out at some point! I also really need to check out those movies hahaha, and thank you so much!
