Yoggi here can be if trainer right * they can ctually be quite violent as they were originally bred to protect Japanese royalty. There was a recent incident (can't remember where) when a girl hugged an qkita whilst it was feeding and got attacked by it. She had to go to hospital
@motofreak27726 жыл бұрын
This is not true at all and is a huge misconception with the breed. Akitas are very loyal to a single person or family, not a very sociable breed naturally and can be very dangerous because people see them as cute and cuddly which may lead them to approach the dog without proper caution.
@pantarei86925 жыл бұрын

I see that some people views Akitas like very agressive breed so let me share with you my experience with my Akita named ARES. As far as I can tell, my Akita is very affectioned toward my family and plays with everyone in the house, sleeping with us in our beds, cuddle 24h, eating food from my hands very often (he likes being fed except if I put food into his bowl) and so on. But the thing is they are very cautious with strangers and if they mark them as a threat they will surely attack without warning, that's their nature and they are very protective and territorial (believe me I saw that first hand, I barely saved the man's life who tried to enter my courtyard without calling my me first). I managed to overcome that food problem with him but he still barks at my grandpa cuz he always relocate his bowl (DO NOT DO THAT WITH ANY BREED, THEIR BOWL IS ONLY THEIRS, BRING THE FOOD TO IT BUT DO NOT TOUCH THE BOWL) But for now it's only barking while on the other side when I sit with him when he eats he's calm and trustfull but surely do not pet him cuz he doesn't like that at all. After he's stuffed you can do to him whatever you want, they have high tolerance toward master, they like cuddling, they are active dogs and like to be in company of a family, give them love as much as you can and do not let them be alone for to long because they are very emotional and could be exposed to high stress condition that makes them agressive. But if you have small kids try to get them used to children and NEVER let your child alone with the dog cuz Akitas rarely makes difference between adults and kids and they can estimate their actions as a threat. At the end they are very dominant dogs due to their inteligence level so DO NOT let them to be an Alpha or you will have a lot of trouble. Show them who's the boss in first 6 months of their lives and when their reproduction hormons get active they can be passively agressive like any other breed. NEVER slap them, use the newspaper and slap on the door cuz the sound of it will scare them and if you really have to slap them, do it on the butt very gently if things get messy, but avoid any physical confrontation at any cost cuz they are very strong (bite - 320 PSI or 24 inches, 2x stronger than Pitt Bull) and they can hurt you. Remember that Akitas WON'T ATTACK the family members he's guarding that's not how they usually act and I don't know how much you need to be cruel for them to attack you. So for the sumary: 1. They are good GUARD DOGS. 2. FAMILY RECOMMENDED. 3. If you do not have time to dedicate them do not adopt them cuz they demand a STRONG HAND and a lot of TIME and NERVES to invest in their training. 4.SOCIALIZE them in first 3 months! 5.Give them LOVE they deserve and they will return you more than any dog breed on this planet with their obedience and loyalty.

Before I was born, my mother's family had Akita inu as a pet, and my mother told me that the Akita was constantly feeding on cow born like light snacks. My mother also told me that when kids takes walk with him, he pulled kids all around and my mother's knee was seriously injured like ground by mills. I guess they failed to tame the dog properly, then the dog became to consider that he's a boss of family. By watching your video, it seems like your Akita is very well tamed, properly educated and being a very nice family member. It should be a difficult and hard work, but you made it! Great job.

I Understand the need for socialization for dogs especially for this breed .they don't like anything that's too hyper or high strung high energy,such as this little kid, you want to keep these dogs as relaxed as possible when meeting and or sociallizing them ! I actually got a little concerned when the boy took that green chew toy or whatever it was , away from the dog . beautiful dog . I had an American Akita but again , I had to be very careful of bringing him around kids that young because of their high energy , that alone stresses these dogs out ,
