Akita Inu Socialisation 101 (from a 5x Akita Mom)

Your dogs are lovely! 💕 They're my favorite breed, but Akitas are known for being intolerant of other dogs and especially same-sex aggressive. Have you ever experienced this with your dogs? How do you maintain their happy relationships with each other? Also at 2:55 it looked like your Akita was showing resource guarding/aggression, is that common with your dogs? How do you handle this?

Hey! Thanks for your comment! Sorry I've just seen it now😵‍💫 as we got them all as puppies, they grew all up together so this helped A LOT already. Of course when a new puppy arrives, the first weeks or even months you can have some discussions between especially the leader of the pack and the new arrival. But when the hierarchy is settled and everybody knows their place, everything goes smoothly😄 It's very important to observe and learn each dogs behavior. because this makes it possible to avoid certain situations where you KNOW there will be some trouble. That's why routine is super important so that over time you manage to get rid of every critical situations😇 once that's all done, you have a happy home with happy dogs and they even cuddle with each other which is super cute to observe🥰 in minute 2:55 like you said, there was actually the neighbours dog behind the fence, that's why he was growling. But yes, as I said in the video, eventhough they are nice to the dogs in their pack, they will almost certainly still NOT be nice to stranger dogs. But that's a small sacrifice in my opinion🤭
