Amazing!! Akita’s are the best breeds to have out of any dog

I love my 3 Yr old Akita. Ever since I got him I cannot compare him to any other breeds. I cannot imagine not having one moving on. He is sweet with us, he protects me and my son. And he knows which people to trust.

I'm thinking of getting akita or rotti. Leaning towards akita. Did you have American or Japanese akita?
@TheAlex09874 жыл бұрын
Both are aslo giant babies, but where the Rottie is more cuddly, the Akita just enjoys being near you. You'd think it would be the other way around, but not really.

Got a year old akita that we have had since 8 weeks. He loves everyone and everything until he feels that he or us are in danger the his switch flicks on quicker then anything and instantly becomes a pure protector

Exactly my boy 9 months old. I tell people you will never hear him bark or growl unless need be… and I love that.

Hi, did you train him or was he naturally protective. Im getting mine in couple of weeks but i do want it make him a guard dog so he can protect my house and family. My neighbourhood isn’t the best.

love your content i'm heavily researching both breeds and would like to know out of the two which would adapt better into an apartment life
@chanocmacias61164 жыл бұрын
The Akita would be better suited for apartment life since they require a little bit less exercise, a little bit less energetic, a lot more hygiene. and house broken clean since they are cat like and on average about a 25% less chance to be on restricted breeds list of some apartments. The Rottweiler is just more energetic and will almost always certainly be on a restricted breed apartment list.

My Akita is a senior now but when he was in his first years he was so stubborn took many, many months to trained. Remember to really focused on socializing this kind of breed, my dog loves being around kids and he can get along so well with other male dogs specially puppies. But if a stranger would get close to any of my kids he would put himself in between and push with his body the stranger.

Can you do a vid how to train your Akita pup to walk on a lead

LOL! What did I get myself into... I have a mix of the two! Mother is an Akita, father is a Rottie. I had a cat for 19 years, this is my first dog. My pup (female) is 12 weeks old right now, biggest problem is the mouthing and eating rocks, grass and dirt outside (which is why I don't let her out unless I can see what she's putting in her mouth). I'll let you know how it goes...

Any dog can turn on a family member, I've personally seen a Doberman turn on its owner. My daughter will be 7 in March, and she grew up with a purebred American Akita.. we now have 2, and they are amazingly smart dogs, stubborn and strong-willed, but I've never seen any aggression towards my daughter, wife, or myself... however, any cat, bird, rat, or other critters that wander into my yard will never leave. My big male behaeded a Bluejay, and I'm not really sure how he caught it. 😲

Will an Akita protect you naturally if your in danger or would it be a barking bluff? Just asking for a friend

Akita is more likely to protect you as they have more natural instinct to protect...
@raftaar3587 Жыл бұрын
Depends on individual you get, like with any breed. A good akita is very good naturally. I have seen 3 months akita with great drive, lunging forward with no fear and solid nerves. I would imagine that dog would be a beast when grown up

I would find a good trainer that is experienced with Akitas. I'm no expert by far but I think because you got him at three months you didn't get to socialize him the way you'd like. So it's going to take time and a lot of patience to break those bad social behaviors. You'll need help with someone who knows the breed and can help you get him socialized. I hope that helps. Good luck.
