one tip for PE foam mod on top of the PCB: when you insert the switches, start from the middle of the board then do each side alternately until it's done. it won't cause resistance since it isn't "stretched"

I got the ACR 68 Pro, and after lubing the stabs and the switches for the longer keycaps, it sounds great. Some of my fav akko switches so far.

the crystal switches are really good even stock, to this day i still haven't lubed them hihi

@@rainykeyboard Yea I honestly like the sound profile they have without lube. Some akko switches are scratchy but these aren't for me.

@@rainykeyboard i really wish I had the guts to customize the case of my board as well. XD im currently using keychron v1 and they sound really sharp after I swapped the Plate foam into PE foam. I loved it. :D

I'm not sure if that PE foam would've added much at all in this case because the board already has a rubber switch pad.

after using it with only the switch pad for months, i finally changed it for pe foam. mmmmm id say the difference is very subtle but i prefer the pe foam :3

ayeee no need for sorrys it's alright!! usually, pe foam has different thicknesses, so it can be used for case foam as well, though that is rare. usually, thin anti-static pe foam is more common, to be used in between the pcb and plate :>

what is the mm thickness of the pe foam did u use for the keyboard?

I did not proceed with the pe foam mod in the end as u can see, but it was 0.5mm

It's pretty thin i dunno why it didn't work, but maybe if u try removing the plate foam and use pe foam instead maybe? (Cus maybe that could be the problem cus the plate foam is too thick so some pins can't connect to the pcb correctly) And if u're putting tape mod, pe foam, plate foam, and case foam, you don't give the board enough room for sound to travel and everything will sound so muted imo. I suggest trying only pe foam and 2 layers of tape mod

@@rainykeyboard no problem! Cus it happened to me when i tried to mod my keyboard. U can check my 43 studio popu sound test if u're interested. I removed all of the foam from the keyboard and only used pe foam and 2 layers of tape mod. Or since alice is gasket mounted, u can use polyfill if it is still hollow sounded.
