@@bloozism Its important to get input from MANY different sources on complicated topics like this! Each instructor can provide a different take on it and fill in areas another professor missed... One person can't explain everything! Students of anything need to listen to as many professors as possible and read as many books as they can.

Cool video! Quick note at 9:10, T cells don't express membrane bound antibodies! CD8+ Cytotoxic T cells express clonal T Cell Antigen Receptors (TCRs) against the presented antigen.

I'm binge watching your immunology lectures and you really are an amazing teacher. On s a side note: I thought that b2 microglobulin found in MHC I is a separate entity that comes together with the alpha chain which contains the three domains. Did I get that woung?

I love your videos but I am a bit confused. I thought that before maturation naive T cells have both CD4 and CD8 co-receptors and then they perfoliate and differentiate into CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells. The CD8+ gets activated to become a cytotoxin cell when an infected APC present its antigen on the MHC I receptor. However, the CD4+ gets activated to become helper T cell when a non-infected APC present its antigen on the MHC II receptor and what you are saying here is that helper T cells is what makes the cytotoxin cells?
@WhyNot-si4pj5 жыл бұрын
Natural killer cells (NK cells) too are CD8 + granular lymphocytes that seek & destroy virally infected & neoplastic cells nonspecifically ! They belong to the (INNATE immune response) .
@WhyNot-si4pj5 жыл бұрын
Actually there are 2 types of CD4 + T helper cells . First : T helper cells type 1 (TH1) responsible for cell mediated immunity , where it mediates the activation of CD8 + cytotoxic T cells , which in turn attacks & destroys foreign antigens presented on the MHC II of the APCs , a classic example of type IV delayed hypersensitivity reaction . Remember how the caseous necrosis in case of TB is a direct result of cytotoxic T cell attack on APCs represented as (epithelioid cell granulomas) . kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4LSimeIpdeHrtE Second : T helper cells type 2 (TH2) responsible for humoral immunity , where it mediates the activation of B-cells & transforms it to antibody secreting plasma cells . It's another form of (ADAPTIVE immune response) in which CD4+ T helper cell takes the upper hand .

So you know about white blood cells but, where would you go if you were to die today? Seek the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ before it's too late. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Hell is real and Heaven is also real. You don't want to spend an eternity in Hell torment without God. The only way to escape Hell is to follow Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour. Study the KJV Bible to know more and pray and seek until you find Jesus. Don't delay tomorrow might be too late. You are not promised even the next minute. Do it now

Hey, just a question. My Genetics textbook made it seem like the Major Histocompatibility Complex referred to a region on the short arm of chromosome 6 that contains some 200 genes which code for these different classes of HLA proteins. Is the term MHC used to refer to both the protein and the region that codes for these genes? Ref. Lewis, Ricki. Human Genetics 13th ed. 2021
